Anyone know of anything that fades stretch marks. I got cocoa butter and vitamin E and put it on three times daily, but these suckers are red and nasty looking. I know after a long time they will fade and not be as red/pink and be as noticeable. Are there any prescription medications that will fade the red color faster?

I'm afraid to start bulking because I'm ruining my skin. I've been off for over six months and my stretch marks are still growing. I'm happy I'm getting bigger, but my skin is getting ruined.

There are even studies on it. It is used by alot of women after pregnancy for their belly marks. Come in 3 strengths 0.025%,0.05%,and the one you want if you have a choice...0.1% and you apply once a day, just takes a small amt.

Good info. I thought it was only for acne.

works only on new stretchmarks, not on the faded ones. they need to still be fresh and red.

Topical therapy for striae alba (White stretch marks)20% glycolic acid/0.05% tretinoin or 20% glycolic acid/10% L-ascorbic acid.

Topical treatment of striae rubra(Red/purple stretch marks) with 0.1% tretinoin and laser treatment of striae rubra and alba with the 585-nm pulsed dye laser are proven therapeutic options.

The studies I have seen say that RetinA is effective within the first 6-12 months.

Alot of it is genetic, not purely related to growth rate. Darker skin doesn't respond as well to treatments, especially lazer therapy.

its all about skin elasticity...the retin-A also comes in a type of patch now. It looks like cellophane and you put it on at night and then take it off the next day. It works pretty well on scars, too. Cocoa butter works better before you get the marks by helping increase skin elasticity

Medmex.com carries it, Not the .1% though and so does a popular fellow with the initals ** from over yonder.

I'm looking for the .1% and will let you know if I find it.

if you go to a european online pharmacey it will cost you about $40 per tube medmex is about half that and still effective.
