aight guys i wanna know what everyone thinks about this issue.
Do you burn more fat by weight training or by cardio??
If people have any studies please post them on here. This is one of the most confusing questions that a lot of my friends ask me or i ask other people. any magazine you open you can will see a different opinion. so i would like to know what u guys think???????

It's not answered that simply unfortunately! If you restate your question to "Does your body burn more CALORIES doing weight training or cardio", I'd probably say that 30 min of intense cardio beats 30 min of resistance training....BUT, if your 30 min of cardio slows to low impact, and you shorten rest periods and up the intensity of the weight training, then the scale might tip the other way a bit.

NOW, if you are really talking about burning FAT, and not just calories....

Your body burns the most readily available fuel at the time it needs it. If you take in fewer calories per day than you expend, then your body digs into fat reserves. So, burning fat isn't just as simple as picking weights or cardio.

if the following is true, you'll maintain weight:
intake = expendature

which is really the same as saying:
intake = resting metabolism + added workout metabolism

If you want to lose fat weight, you decrease the intake and/or increase the expendature. There's only one way to decrease the intake...that's dieting. On the other side though, you can play with those two variables independently. Resting metabolic demand will depend largely on how much muscle mass you have. Muscle is expensive. Also, when you diet, your resting metabolism will drop in between workouts as your body responds to the fewer available calories.

So, in summary, weight training AND cardio AND proper diet are all necessary to drop fat weight naturally.

I'd say that cardio would burn more unless you're doing a really tough leg workout then that part of your weight training would burn more cals.

By the way Madchemist, what happened to all your posting? You slowed down a lot. Boking and i will take your post whore title away from you real soon. :p

well there are different types of chemists. you can go all the way up get pHD or just get your degree in pharmacology. a pharmasist makes 80,000-100,000 a year and a chemist with a pHd makes upto 200,000.

oh yeah and for sure man i will hit you up with any thing u want. but i still got 4-6 years to go. but when i do get my degree you guys at MC will be the first ones to taste my shit.
