A-Rod won't be back any time soon but he still may be eligible to return to the field a bit earlier than Major League Baseball intended.
Independent arbitrator Fredric Horowitz (http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Fredric_Horowitz)notified Alex Rodriguez, MLB and the players' union on Saturday that he had reduced the three-time American League MVP's suspension from 211 games to 162 (http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/arbitrator-rules-alex-rodriguez-to-be-suspended-for-2014-season?ymd=20140109&content_id=66433260&vkey=news_mlb). Such a ban will sideline Rodriguez for the entire 2014 regular season for violations of MLBs drug agreement and labor contract. Horowitz's ruling will also keep Rodriguez from participating in the 2014 postseason should the New York Yankees qualify. MLB's independent arbitrator since June 2012, Horowitz heard A-Rod's case over several contentious sessions (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/20/alex-rodriguez-walks-out-meeting-mlb_n_4310317.html) that began (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/28/arod-mlb-suspension-ped-ban_n_4010299.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000009) during the 2013 season.
"For more than five decades, the arbitration process under the Basic Agreement has been a fair and effective mechanism for resolving disputes and protecting player rights," MLB said in a statement, via MLB.com. (http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/arbitrator-rules-alex-rodriguez-to-be-suspended-for-2014-season?ymd=20140109&content_id=66433260&vkey=news_mlb) "While we believe the original 211-game suspension was appropriate, we respect the decision rendered by the Panel and will focus on our continuing efforts on eliminating performance-enhancing substances from our game."
Rodriguez had been hit with the historic 211-game ban in (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/05/arod-suspension-mlb-biogenesis_n_3709208.html)August for his involvement with Biogenesis, a closed anti-aging clinic in Miami accused of dispensing performance-enhancing drugs to several players. The 38-year-old third baseman was among more than a dozen players disciplined in the Biogenesis scandal but the only one still fighting his ban. In a statement released on Saturday, Rodriguez denied using performance-enhancing drugs and vowed to continue fighting his suspension in federal court.
“I have been clear that I did not use performance enhancing substances as alleged in the notice of discipline, or violate the Basic Agreement or the Joint Drug Agreement in any manner, and in order to prove it I will take this fight to federal court,"Rodriguez said in a statement released to the New York Daily News (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/breaking-a-rod-slammed-full-season-ban-postseason-article-1.1576281). "I am confident that when a Federal Judge reviews the entirety of the record, the hearsay testimony of a criminal whose own records demonstrate that he dealt drugs to minors, and the lack of credible evidence put forth by MLB, that the judge will find that the panel blatantly disregarded the law and facts, and will overturn the suspension.”
The Major League Baseball Players Association also released a statement following the announcement of the arbitration decision. While the MLBPA disagreed with the result of the arbitration process, its statement implied it would not be helping Rodriguez pursue the matter in federal court.
"The MLBPA strongly disagrees with the award issued today in the grievance of Alex Rodriguez, even despite the arbitration panel's decision to reduce the duration of Mr. Rodriguez's unprecedented 211-game suspension," the MLB PA said in a statement released to MLB.com. (http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/arbitrator-rules-alex-rodriguez-to-be-suspended-for-2014-season?ymd=20140109&content_id=66433260&vkey=news_mlb) "We recognize that a final and binding decision has been reached, however, and we respect the collectively bargained arbitration process which led to the decision. In accordance with the confidentiality provisions of the JDA, the Association will make no further comment regarding the decision."

Agreed, and not just hearsay in my opinion, but now he looks like he has been paid in one way or another by MLB to testify against A-rod. So im with ya brutha!

I will say this though, while I dont agree with Steroids being Illegal and listed along the lines of heroin and cocaine in the court of law , which is insane!

I do think its fucked up if you juice in sports, I use to think it was ok for everyone and thought who cares, but when i think about the guys who are competing clean in sports, i have to think its extremely unfair to those guys who do not want to put steroids into their bodies just to compete with the guys who are doing so!

So yeah its fucked up and I now consider it cheating where as I did not see it this way before! But make no mistake about it, if they allowed steroids to be in the sport, everyone would do it! EVERYONE! But as it is now i think theirs a handful of guys who arent willing to take the risk of getting caught.

So i say let them all juice! And if they took PEDs out of sports, then no one would watch the games, as i think it would be boring as shit! MLB's steroid era saved Baseballs popularity!!! PERIOD!

People in charge arent being honest with themselves!

Bosch's body language had "liar" written all over it. I wouldn't be a bit suprised if this had something to do with the Yankees trying to get out of that redicilous contract.

well the Yankees and MLB are both 2 powerful entities so it wouldn't surprise me much! The reporter in last nights interview kind of annoyed me though, when Bosch said everyone is doing it (juicing) from the out fielder to the catcher and 3rd baseman, the reporter dismissed this notion lol, Baseball has been dirty forver and always will be, shit they were doing coke and uppers back in the days of ruth lol and boozing it up ect...

It amazes me how this country is decaying from the inside out with what everyone lets happen with todays culture of vulgar this and vulgar that, bitches and hoes, pimpin and poppin caps, entertainers high on drugs telling our malleable youth drugs are cool, killing is bad ass but yet the media is outraged over the guys who wanna take somethings that helps them recuperate faster and give them an athletic edge by creating a better physical body, lmao, its down right outrageous actually!

The 60 Minutes interview with Bosch last night was a joke. They made Bosch look like this intelligent guy that had mastered PED use by athletes and had magically found a way to beat testing. His methods are ancient, but he just happened to be in the right circle of people to make his money. If you look at Bosch's past, he has screwed everyone has ever done business with in some way. This continued last night. He was offered money by MLB, but nothing is certain on the amount from what I been able to find. I know at one point they agreed to pay all of his legal bills, but I have seen millions of dollars mentioned as well.

I agree that most people are using. I really don't care, but for the media to single people out because they don't want to come to terms that most athletes are using is ridiculous.

Yeah it was annoying, and I dont think Bosch came off as looking like any kind of intellect , thats for sure! I thought he looked proud though! With every questions answers came a smile, a grin, or at the very least a fucking smirk! I thought he came off as arrogant, proud and way to detailed to be taken seriously in my opinion.

And yeah ancient methods, lol, you would have thought he invented the fucking wheel with how proud he was of mentioning to take urine from the center of the urine stream as to limit the metabolites. I dont think he came off looking anymore credible in my opinion, and even less credible with every smug grin.

And whats the one thing everyone thinks will trump being a "RAT" ? Telling the world you were afraid for your life, lmao. Nigga Please!

The guy doing the interview was the one making him look like he did something intelligent. Like where he said, " so it is really that precise," about using the middle of the urine stream. Dope heads have been doing this for years to pass piss tests.
