Lately I just have no drive to get the gym. And when I'm there I do one exercise and just feel like leaving. I know alot has to do with the fact that I stopped taking the ECA stack. That stuff would wire me up so bad that I could go forever , especially running on the treadmill. I figured I should take a break from it. I took it for about 3 1/2 months, twice a day and thought it would be a good idea to give my body a rest. Now I have no go at the gym. Anyone ever get like this?? Can anyone suggest something to help my energy levels, something to boost me up besides ECA and the like?? Thanks is advance!!

Hey Spanishfly, I know exactly what you mean! I have hit a rut a couple of times... I am a firm believer in taking a break from EVERYTHING every once in a while. Give yourself a rest so you can come back 110%. My trainer even tells me to take two weeks off every so often. You don't want to end up resenting what you love so much. You know?

Aside from that... a wise man once told me (when I wanted to quit) to think about 'what is in it for YOU'. And the answer to that is "A LOT." That always seems to help me too. But sometimes -- I just need a break.

I am not sure about the energy boost question. The ECA's don't seem to help me -- so I kinda just have to go from the gut.

I hope some of my rambling helps you.

I hit a rut a few times a year...it drives me nuts and honestly, I don't know what gets me out of it. Sometimes I spend a lot of time online, looking at pics of fitness models, trying to get my motivation up. It usually works long enough to get my ass through a workout.

I am in a RUT right now.......I hate it....I am grouchy and everything.....I am going to the gym tonight and trying to get a good workout done. I think for me things have been so hectic at home and work for the last few months, that I am just wore out....and now, I can't seem to get my head back into the game. I am still tired all of the time, my ECA isn't even giving me a boost....and I was off of it for a while, and just started back up. I'm going to try and keep pushing myself and see if I just snap out of it............SOON I HOPE!.....I can't hardley stand myself...lol

I know what you mean fly, I'm dreading the end of this cycle because I'll be coming off AAS, T3, clen and ECA all within a few weeks of each other...All I can add is that you have to take the pain...keep mentally focused and try to stay in your routine. If you can't shake it, take a week off and think about everything you get from your training. Hey, it'll be me asking for help on this in about 9 weeks and 2 days...but who's counting, lol :)

You could always break your arm and be UNABLE to train for 8 weeks. You suddenly want what you can't have. Seriously, though, none of us is going to break an arm deliberately. Unless it's someone else's for touching our gear!

Here's what I do: I sit in my car in the gym parking lot for about 15 mins. before I go in and I read Arnold's Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding. I check out the different exercises he has for the body part Im doing for the day. I visualize doing it. imagining the pump I'm going to get that's going to hurt so bad I wonder why I do this to myself!

It could also be that you're overtrained. One of the biggest symptoms of overtraining is lethargy; lack of zeal and zest and interest in training, along with the physiological components such as lack of recuperation & growth, etc.

Or you could simply be bored. Try something new. Try to re-tool your regimen. There are SOOOO many variations such as exercise variety, sets, reps, tempo, forced reps, partial-reps, super-sets, tri-sets, Priority Principle (concentrating on weak bodyparts), stripping method, running the rack, etc.

Or, you could also take a week off and concentrate on NOT thinking about training, in addition to eating as much of whatever you want.
Variety is the spice of life!

Hey Fly...

The thing/the reason for you feeling like you do is that your body has gotten used to the extra kick from the ECA that it feels "flat" when off... Just when we guys go Off it takes time for your body to reset!

Your body can go through withdrawl symptoms from caffeine and such. Headaches, tiredness etc. Do you have a workout partener? A magazine to get you motivated? Best of luck.

Well I have to update you guys. I'm doing much better now. I think I'm over the withdrawl from ECA. I'm not taking it like I was before....just on leg days. I feel great and have been having awesome workouts.

No I don't have a training partner.....wish I did though:)
