That question is too general for me. I vary my routines so much that I'm not sure how to answer. I am cutting at the moment and my current routine looks like this:

Mon - 15 min cardio, chest, shoulders, upper back
Tue - upper abs, wrist, 45 min cardio
Wed - 15 min cardio, legs, lower back
Thu - lower abs, obliques, 45 min cardio
Fri - 15 min cardio, arms, shoulders
Sat, Sun - ride motorcycle 6 hours each day

I'm still training heavy as possible (5 - 8 reps). The above works well for me.

I was just wondering if it is realy necessary to train around 6 reps. I allways like to train in the 8-12 rep range.

I posted this because I allways feel I'm not doing enough, allthough I allways go home exhausted.

...if you are going home exhausted, and gave it all you had, then you are definitely doing enough...i have always believed that DIET determines bulking or cutting, not the workout or even the drugs to an extent...changing things up are good, and of course cardio plays a role also...

I am big into Pyramiding (sp) for all different lifts I will do 5-7 SETS and start with 15 REPS and work down to 6 REPS. I ALWAYS do my best to get my workout partner to go with me, becuase with a partner my workout is ten times better.

A general question, but here is my reply for what it is worth,

I went from 140 to 170 natural in 2 years using this method:

1) Train with absolute single-minded focus and intensity until I am drenched with sweat, feel like I want to vomit, and stagger out of the gym. I consider all sets without serious pain to be warmup sets. I never "hang out", I am courteos though. I just trained as hard as I could. I started out as the skinniest toothpick in the gym. I am all business still, but have a ton of friends there now, especially some of the monsters because I train like a raging madman.

No matter where you are in your physique development, people will always repsect you if you are courteous, and train with perfect form and utmost intensity.

2) Do this as a split for as many weeks in a row as I can handle, usually 3-4 weeks. Then take one week of total rest aside from stretching, walking, pilates, and yoga. A rebound week.

3) The go back and torture myself again for 3-4 weeks. I use no supps except for glutamine, so 30lbs gain in 2-3 years is pretty damn good.

4) Then I go out to work for extended periods in the field and waste a lot of it right off. Needless to say, I am hoping my volunteer work will help me get a more normal job where I can eat, sleep and train better.

5) Did the juice and loved it. Gained another solid 15 in 8 weeks. Not a big gain but lost NONE. Just hard, hard, intense total focus training.

I am new here and am not a pro. I am just a natural ectomorph with a brutal job that wastes my body and an insane schedule. I am no better than anyone else, so I say this with all humility:

Love your training. Love it with everything you have in your mind and soul. Love your freinds and family. Love yourself and your body. Take time to help others who are struggling whenever you can. Take time to help yourself grow and heal--mentally, physically, and spiritually. Be true to your wife or girlfreind, they love you and you need their support. Give all you can to others inside and outside of the gym. Have fun. Love God, love your life. Don't waste a single second of your day. Be as fine and honorable a person as you can. Forgive others and don't beat yourself up for your failures and mistakes. Always challenge yourself and do what your heart tells you is the right thing to do at all times. Infuse everythign you do with passion, love, and intensity.

And train like a motherfucking animal!
