George Farah and Kai zoning in on September’s Olympia.
Kai Greene, runner-up at the last two Olympias, is bodybuilding’s most enigmatic participant. With his other worldly physique, persona, grooming and posing skills he has carved out a niche all his own. We have never seen such exotic and esoteric posing, which is an art he has stood on its head with moves such as …. well, standing on his head. But his individuality is not confined to his onstage persona as offstage he is about as orthodox as a pork chop stall in a synagogue.
But the guy, despite his uniqueness, is for real with many seeing him capable of toppling current Olympia champ Phil Heath at the Orleans Arena, Las Vegas, this coming September 20.
One person, besides Kai, who is convinced our subject will take this year’s Sandow is his contest prep advisor George Farah. The duo have been working together since 2011 and this is how George’s sees their 2014 Olympia game plan working out.
“At the 2013 Olympia prejudging staged on Friday night we had a problem. Kai was holding a film of water – we couldn’t figure it out, maybe he was a bit nervy or something. By Saturday night’s finals we had got rid of the water and he was much tighter but it was too late and he was second again. People said why didn’t you bring him in like 2012, ripped and lean? I said, guess what, we brought him in like that in 2012 and he was second, so for 2013 the plan was to bring him in bigger and harder.
“Seven days later at the 2013 Arnold Classic Europe in Madrid, we nailed it and he made Phil look small. That was his best ever. He was 280 pounds shredded. But again it was too late; we all know a week after winning the Mr. Olympia the champ has an advantage going in.
“This year we’re gonna repeat and improve on the Madrid look. People keep saying don’t let him get any bigger. We’re not aiming to make him bigger, we’re aiming to make him better. We won’t go by the scale; we’ll go by how he looks. C’mon the guy’s a freak of nature. Like in early July, 11 weeks before the Olympia, he’s posing at 307 pounds with his glutes just about striated. He’s gonna surprise everybody and I just feel bad for anybody who has to stand next to him on the Olympia stage.

Kai Greene: Getting ready to stand the bodybuilding world on its head?
“The only change from Madrid is we’re working on is streamlining his waist more – and since early this year people have noticed it is smaller. We’ve changed his diet a little. He’s having smaller meals, more often; like eight to nine meals per day. That way we keep too much protein being ingested at one time which can bloat the stomach. “Listen to me. Everyone one is saying Phil cannot be beaten. Kai is not one of them. He’s absolutely confident he can beat Phil -- he already did in Madrid. He knows he has to be bang on at Friday night’s prejudging and be set up beat Phil on Friday and Saturday. He is so confidant he will win the 2014 Olympia that he’s not doing the contests taking place during the weekends after the Olympia. For him now it’s all about the Olympia -- only about the Olympia. He’s focusing only on that and by not thinking ahead to other contests all the marbles will be on the table in Las Vegas. Kai has this dream of winning the Olympia and he will never let that go. He believes if you don’t have a dream you give up. He’ll never give up.”
KAI’S THE LIMIT
Once that Olympia prejudging bell clangs Kai will have more than just George in his corner. He has a multitude of fans and it has to be said a constituency of detractors. For those who point the finger at some of his past behavior, “Why didn’t he get a job, instead of living rough”; “Why did he do things that have come back to haunt him?” Don’t judge him until you walk in his shoes ….. and it’s a good bet that no one has indeed trod the path that Kai’s distinctive red Reeboks have traveled. Instead celebrate him as a great bodybuilder, one of the most unique characters we have seen in this sport and one who entertains us like no other. Yes he’s for real. Long may his munchkin like face, that all knowing Sphinx, “I ain’t finished yet” smile, his twinkling “I have a secret” eyes, his talismanic braided hair, his “What the bloody hell is he doing now?” posing skills, and that physique constructed along superhero dimensions grace our bodybuilding landscape.

Honestly I used to like kai. I've lost all my respect for him as of late. And honestly he looked the worst we've seen in a while at pre judging this year

Why did you lose respect for him?
