People often ask what the optimal testosterone level is. And while we have an idea what an ideal range is we certainly cannot determine what is optimal for each individual without analyzing many aspects of their health and lifestyle. Still there is some reasonable research that can give us a general idea of “optimal” testosterone levels. Keep in mind the subjective measures are just as important (if not more so) as objective measures. If you feel terrible, have low energy, and a low libido it may be worth getting your hormone levels tested. Keep in mind other lifestyle changes. If you only slept 4 hours last night you’re going to feel tired!
This table represents the variability in testosterone levels. It used a sample of U.S. men to calculate the ranges in total and free testosterone. If you find yourself in the top 5% consider yourself lucky. Bottom 5%? Then you may want to make some lifestyle changes or consult your doctor.
