There is an ironic paradox to using anabolic enhancement. People take these substances to enhance muscle growth, yet it seems that when you are not on them, muscle growth is even slower than it was prior to their use. This has a doubly negative effect. Not only is a drag going back to a “normal” state after having super powers, but progress seems impossible while off. Naturally, this creates a state of mind where all the athlete can think about is going back on!Everyone talks about maintaining gains post cycle, but doesn’t it make more sense to keep making further gains even while off the Steroids? Too many guys have accepted that just can’t be the case. They’ve depended so much of the steroids that natural training seems a waste of time. But it doesn’t have to be the case. In fact, the more progress you make naturally, the more progress you’ll make while on cycle. It’s a win/win.There are a lot of factors in making continual growth – the most important being a refusal to accept that progress only comes when cycling. That’s just not so. Of course, the gains just aren’t as great and aren’t as fast as when using enhancement. But they can be made. In fact, if you haven’t learned to make gains naturally, your gains on cycle will be sub par. And the better your gains naturally, the better they’ll be with the anabolic advantage. Also imperative is the understanding of how to train where you continually tax the muscle enough to force continued growth. That’s a book in itself, you can find ton of info on that at Evolutionary.org. For now, let’s just say that understanding the mechanics of muscle growth takes some study. And when you learn to do it right, you’ll always have it. If you just depend on the Steroids, you’ll never make real gains. You can cycle for years and a few months after you stop you’ll be right back where you started. There are other methods to not only keep gains ongoing, but make them almost as good as being on a Steroid cycle, and that’s to try and replicate what the anabolic hormones do. Many have tried. Many have failed. And the reason they failed is because they tried to replicate the actual drugs when all you really need to do is replicate the effects of the drugs. So let’s look at some of the things that steroids do – or more specifically, what they effect. One major contributor to the greater muscle growth is increased blood volume. This is too often overlooked. It’s the volume, strength and viscosity of the blood that creates the intense pumps you get while on cycle. That generates more nutrients to the muscles and spurs mitochondria development. The more, and larger the mitochondria, the more potential muscle growth. It’s no different than the planting of seeds results in more potential crops. The more seeds in the soil, the more potential crop you’ll wind up with.

Naturally, keeping the blood rich in iron is one way to insure this, but too much iron can be toxic. One ingredient that’s been shown to increase blood cells is a rare herb called Cassis Grandis. And it also controls blood glucose levels! In the past, the way to get a pump was to add simple carbs into the bloodstream. Cassis Gradis does it without a spike in insulin. That’s a double benefit.

Arnold certainly had the best pecs ever. It's all genetics with him. He was lucky to have have genes that produced these broad flat pecs. Just the opposite of Phil Heath who does not have these large wide pecs.
