The oft-delayed hearings of suspended fighters Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz will allegedly take place in a little over a week.

It appears that Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz are going to stand in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission for a hearing - only seven months after they both tested positive. According to MMA Junkie, the fighters will have their cases heard on August 13th after many, many delays.

The two men competed in the main event of UFC 183 in January, with Silva winning a unanimous decision. After the bout it was announced that Silva had tested positive for two steroids in pre-fight and post-fight testing. Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites for the third time.

Both results have come under scrutiny since they were announced though, with Diaz apparently passing two tests conducted by one lab (Sports Medicine Research and Testing Laboratory), but failing one conducted by another (Quest Diagnostics). Silva's test results were disputed by noted PED reporter Larry Pepe.

At the hearing, the commission will first present their case, with the fighters allowed to defend themselves after that. They both could receive long suspensions, and the fight result could be overturned.

John witherspoon said it best when he said he wants his athletes on the juice. It makes things more interesting.
