Common sense would dictate yes but I want your guys take on it. Ok boiling water is about 212f so if that's what you use to do your batch your only going to get 212. I recently bought a magnetic stirrer that goes to 300. You think it is beneficial to run your batch at the compounds melting point to get a better product?

It is better to stay close to the melting point IMO. This way it doesn't degrade your raws. The other problem you may run into is burning your oil. I recently made some whinny and you have to heat over 300 f to melt, i made sure the oil i used could withstand the high temperature. The problem with the whinny i have is that it's not pure and i had to heat for long periods of time, making sure not to exceed to far from the melting point of the whinny. The only way i could get it to hold was to heat then let sit for a few days and then repeat the process. It turned out pretty nice. The oil i used could be heated up to 450 f.
