What a great way to raise money create an awareness for fitness!
Having 2 autistic children, I understand the struggles that families go through when faced with autism. It is because of this that I started my series of Fit For Autism events back in 2007. As a bodybuilder, so much time is spent working every muscle in the body. We must not overlook the most important one, our heart. My personal mission is to use my professional status and influence to make an impact on the lives of children affected by autism. I want to make a difference in the lives of not only my children but all of the people that are not as fortunate to have the physical ability that myself and other athletes have.Each year we hold events in different cities. Contestants compete in 2 parts. Fundraising and The Fitness Challenge. For the fitness challenge we compete in several different events such as bench press, pullups, tire flips, obstacle courses, squats, and more. The person with the most reps, combined with the most money raised is declared the winner. We are very fortunate to have great prizes donated by our sponsoring companies such as MHP, Muscular Development, Heartland Foods, American Muscle Supply, and many more.So far we have held Fit For Autism events in Columbia MD @The Colosseum Gym , Edgewater NJ @UFC Gym Edgewater , and the East Coast Mecca, Bev Francis Powerhouse Gym in Long Island. We look forward to returning to these locations, and possibly spreading out to new locations in the future.Below are some photos from some of our past events.
