ok, my girl wants to get on birth control now, THANK GOD !!!

It sucks having to worry about that, but i'm wondering, if you had to choose, would you get the shot, Depo-Provera by Pharmacia and Upjohn or would you get the oral method....

the failure rate of the shot is 0.3% whereas the failure rate of the pill is 3%.....

so it seems that the pills is much more effect, and the PDR lists less side effects.

also, besides which one, can a University DR, as in the on-campus DR at a university prescribe these? They would need to be prescribed confidentially, as her parents or anyone could find out. It would pretty much disqualify her from the pageants she is in and such.

I don't know if a school dr would prescribe them or not. I don't see why not but she could go to the local health department if she wanted and get them. That should be a cheaper way to go. That would also be a better option for keeping it confidential.

i though patient/ doctor is always confidential..........i dont tknow about the school doc,i dont know why not????doc is a doc...

tell her tell him my boyfriend fvcks the hell out me.......lol......and you dont want to get preganat ,she wants to finish school.

the depovera fvcked my ex up........her hair was fallin out,she LOST weight and face broke out.......but that was years ago maybe it changed???

my friends wife is on it now........she gained 30 pounds in 2 months.

tough choice bro.........both will have side effect.......tell her to watch pain pills and antibiotics, they screw the pills up,trust me i got an 8 y/o to prove it.

good luck cj.....

take from my personal experience both will bring side effects....

the shot makes her gain a TON of weight and after a few months u won't wanna bang her no more.......serious

but the pill makes her a pain in the ass with mood swings every other freakin day!!!............

both as far as effectiveness is concerned works very well, but i would go with the pill, I'd rather have a mean skinny biotch than one that's too fat to phawk!!!

My ex was on the pill, eventually her attitude broke us up though :(

My wife says DEPO sux(too many sides)..definately go with the pill....this was from "APHRODITE" herself...she has done both

Side effects form the pill sometimes include a slight weight gain. Sometimes the breasts get bigger, acne, other things that I can't remember. Who cares though. As long as she doesn't get pregnet. Make sure she doesn't take any type of Anti-E's. Nolva etc.

man I dont know a lot about the U.S contraceptions but if you are considering one of the implant based types, then DONT DO IT.

I am talikng about the types the doctor implants in a chicks arm or whatever, and they normally last for about 3 years. You dont have to take any pills, I think they slowly release the contraceptive medium.
Anyway I have known 4 girls well that thought "wow what a great idea " and went and got this contraception.
Every one of them became irratable had a huge reduction in their sex drive, and were basically moody due to this.

All the chicks had them taken out and they returned back to normal, and are now back onto the regular once a day pill.
They all maintain the inplanted contraception was a miserable experience , and two of the guys that were with these chicks were seriously going to break up with their girl friends as it affected their chicks sex drive/ mood so much.
Just my experience but it cant be a coincidence as it happend 4 out of 4 times.

I won't let me girl go on the pill.............fucking with female hormones wreaks to much havoc on their bodies.........I'll keep wrapping the guy till we're ready to have kids.......The girls I've had relationships with before were on the pill but I never noticed any of the sides you all have mentioned.....go figure

The only good thing about teh shot is that you don't have to remember it everytime. Once ever 3 months and your good, also most women never have there period anymore so you no longer have that problem. Although some cases a girl will be on and off her peroid all teh time on teh shot. Go with the pill but if she fuqs up and forgets things a lot be wary.

Yea my girl is on the pill, she gained a little weight but she just upped her gym time and she looks good. Plus its good to let the load fly!

my ex girl was on both (not at the same time) ortho is cool except for the spotting that happens like the first couple mos.....the pill is also good the 3% comes in from dumb phucks who forget to take it...either way would be a good choice....cj you have a g/f I thought you had a b/f...jk bro

As far as Univ. doctors prescribing it, it depends on the school. I go to a Catholic Univ, so they won't prescribe any sort of birth control. However, I know of many schools that do, without religious affiliation.
If her school does not provide it, go to a Planned Parenthood in your area, I think its http://www.plannedparenthood.org/ (not to sound to commercial-ish). They provide all sorts of services at a sliding scale, and no insurance involved.
Hope this info helps!

Well, i talked to the other girl i'm dating, she's on Yasmin 28.

When she started it, she didn't gain any weight at all, but that could be because she's pretty athletic.....

so the University MD might be able to prescrive that for her, if not, i'll see about having her go to the gynocologist i guess....

but no shot, i don't want her getting fat on me.....
