weight loss, WTF is going on

please someone fill me in on why this is happening
My wife is on a 1200 cal diet, 600 cals protien powder, 600 cals of vege's, sometimes powder is switched with tuna, chicken or beef. I tell her to eat 6 times a day. She lifts and does cardio 5 days a week, 60 miniutes of brisk walking, just under a jog. Her weight is close to 155 though she will never tell me. Her weight lose is less than a pound a week

Now I'm on the same diet but since I'm 194 my cal intake is 1800. Same combo as above, I do cardio maybe 2 times a week, lift 4 days a week. Both our diets are super clean, no starches, breads, milk, nuts, nothing processed at all except whey protien. I average a 3 pound loss a week. We both have been on this diet for over a month. She's down maybe 4 pounds, I'm down 20 pounds. Why is there such a difference in weight loss between the to sex's.

Dont know bro but IMO that seams okey!
But if your/shes not happy with the results then you might want to add a litte ECAto your diet´s, that will ad some "Nitrious Oxide" to your furnaces;) :D ;)

Thats the next step, today was her first Xenadrine EFX day. She can't handle eca nor can I. Something else that bothers me is her body temp is almost 2 degree below normal. Doc's say her thyroid is on the low end but not treatable yet. I'm sure her hypothyroidism is the cause of her low body temp. I picked up a supplyment today that has a tyrosine/glandular thyroid combo. I'll get her on that and check for a body temp rise.

Sounds like she's hypothyroid to me. It really pisses me off when these idiot doctors go by those goddamn scales. If her bodytemp is low and is having trouble losing weight she needs T4. Or they might decide that T3 for a few months would do her fine. Either way, you need to go see an Endocrinologist that knows what the hell they are talking about.

I agree with Big Guns. Although I 'was' hypothyroid until I did my first cycle of gear! Now my levels are well above normal. My Doctor couldn't believe it. (He knows all that I have done) Dr. and I both attribute the increased metabo to the muscle gain.

I might also have her back off on the cardio down to 3 or so days a week. She needs as much muscle gain as possible (to burn more fat) and she may be burning 'too' much and that, on top of the decreased calories could be causing her body to go to her muscle stores for energy.

There is a great Thyroid supp called Bladderwrack that you can get at your local Natural Food Store. They smell like SHEIT, but work great. I'd give those a shot if your Doctor won't step up to the plate.

Hope this helps!

just off the top of my head, i'd say she's not eating enough. her body probably is in starvation mode and its hanging on to everything it can.

1200 really isn't alot of calories, especially if she does cardio 5x per week. (i'm 5'8", 135 lbs and i typically rotate between 1700 and 2000 calories when cutting). i'd up the clean calories and try to get them from real food rather than relying so much on protein powders. also, does she get any good fats in her diet?

My girl friend had similar problems. She increased the cals a bit and added NYC and Yohimburn to help with the stubborn fat.

what also helped was she added more water and small amounts of fruit throughout the day to her diet. It is my understanding that the fructose from fruit helps with mainting liver conversion of t4 to t3.
