Good (19-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) was pulled from a planned appearance at UFC 205 after he tested positive for 1-androstenedione (an endogenous weak androgen and estrogen and intermediate to/prohormone of testosterone), and its metabolite 1-(5a)-androsten-3a-ol-17-one, which is registered as a non-specified substance in the class of anabolic agents and prohibited at all times under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.USADA officials revealed a contaminated supplement was to blame for the positive test of Lyman Good. It was stated that Good, following notification of his positive test, provided the United States Anti-Doping Agency with information about a dietary supplement product he was using at the time of the relevant sample collection. USADA also added that testing conducted on an independently sourced, unopened container of the product by the WADA-accredited laboratory in Salt Lake City, Utah, indicated that it contained 1-androstenedione although no prohibited substances were listed on the supplement label.
The presence of an undisclosed prohibited substance in a product is regarded as contamination. USADA said the product accordingly has since been added to the High Risk List of supplements maintained on USADA’s online dietary supplement safety education and awareness resource – Supplement 411 (www.Supplement411.org).The sanction on Lyman Good dates back to October 24, when he was provisionally suspended and pulled from a planned contest with Belal Muhammad.A 31-year-old New Yorker, Good was an early Bellator champion who made his UFC debut in 2015.
