Deadlifters -

Most I've ever done is 445, but I usually do it at the end of my workout, and work up to a 1 rep weight. Have been deadlifting for about 5 months. Weigh 195 lbs.

Havn't maxed yet.... but 315 for 5 last week, its about the only movement I can make improvements on every week. Im a whopping 185lbs at 6'1"

605lbs....GD!

might i remind u guys that when dedlifting especially for heavy weight i would STRONGLY suggest starting out at a low weight and work your way up over the course of a month or so other wide u will be on here bitchin and moanin about how u fucked up your back....your back is something that will take 4ever to heal and get back 2 100%...so dont fuck it up just to b able to post some big number on this board!

even a month would be pushing it to hit a single rep max. I would sugggest about a ten to twelve week peaking cycle to get the CNS accustomed to the heavier weight.

I hear that. I started my first set with 315 a few years ago and pulled something, felt like a knife went through my back. It was fucked up for weeks. Now, I only do hyperextensions and good mornings (& straight-leg deadlifts on hammy day)...no more deadlifts for now. But I wonder what my max would be....

I tried 455 lbs today, and almost got it. Had it up, but couldn't get all the way straight up. I'm close, though! What do you guys find to be the best way to make progress on deadlifts? I'm pretty happy with my back development since I started, but it's never big enough!

My last competition this year, I opened with 700 which was pretty easy. I didn't pull anymore after that because I only needed 635 to win.

I'm guessing by the way I felt that day that I could have pulled close to 800 if I had to.
