Esther Lin, MMA Fighting Two UFC middleweights displaced by the coronavirus pandemic have been united on a different card.
Marvin Vettori and Karl Roberson are set to meet on April 25 at a UFC Fight Night card with a yet-unannounced location that’s expected to be announced shortly, multiple people with knowledge of the booking told MMA Fighting. The people asked for anonymity because the bouts are not yet public.
Vettori was set to face Darren Stewart at UFC London and was in the event’s host city when he found out the promotion aimed to move it to Las Vegas as new social distancing guidelines were put into place. Ultimately, the promotion postponed the event when a new venue couldn’t be found in time, and the Italian was out of luck.
Roberson, meanwhile, was set to face Makhmud Muradov at UFC 249 on April 18. Muradov, a resident of Prague, was ruled out of the fight card.
As previously reported, the UFC has rebooked fighters for the April 18 card, including an interim lightweight title headliner between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje.
