Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that a matchup between Chris Daukaus and Parker Porter has been added to the Aug. 14 pay-per-view event, which takes place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. MMA Junkie was first to report the booking.
Daukaus, a six-time CFFC veteran, was scheduled to challenge Shawn Teed for the promotion’s heavyweight title on Aug. 12 before receiving the call to the UFC. The 30-year-old joins his younger brother Kyle on the roster and enters his octagon debut with victories in six of his last seven bouts. Most recently, the Philadelphia native picked up a first-round finish of Danny Holmes at CFFC 77 in Aug. 2019.
Porter returned to MMA competition after a three-year layoff in 2018 and has gone 3-1 on the New England regional scene. The 35-year-old competed twice in 2019 and picked up consecutive finishes of Kevin Sears and Dirlei Broenstrup for CES MMA. Porter has history with Jon Jones; in his third pro fight, he was finished by the UFC light heavyweight champion in the first round at WCF 3 in June 2008.
UFC 252 is headlined by a heavyweight championship trilogy fight between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier.
