2023 Musclecontest Rio Pro Wellness Show Preview

Many bodybuilding experts and insiders might say that Brazil is the birthplace of the Wellness division, which places emphasis on larger legs and glutes. The division has grown in popularity worldwide, but it’s a feature attraction in South America.
The next pro Wellness show is the 2023 Musclecontest Rio Pro, scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2023, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is the second edition of this contest. Julia Chitarra won the contest in 2022.
No athlete in this contest has won a pro show, nor have they qualified for the Wellness Olympia in Wellness before. The roster is below, with names in alphabetical order:

Five Brazilian competitors are on the roster, the winner of which will earn qualification for the 2023 Wellness Olympia, where they will face the defending champion, Brazil’s own Francielle Mattos.

Jessica Basso
Basso is the 2022 Amateur Olympia Spain Wellness champion. She quickly got to work with her IFBB Pro League card by competing in two shows. She placed sixth in the 2022 Empro Pro and 2022 Mr. Big Evolution Pro. This will be her first competition for the 2023 season.
Renata Buarciaba
Buarciaba is a former Figure pro who competed on the Figure Olympia stage; she was outside the top 15 in 2015. After a five-year hiatus, she entered the Wellness division in 2020.
Buarciaba still seeks her first pro win in the Wellness division. Her highest placing so far is a second in the 2022 Argentina Sur Cup Pro.
Rose Lopes
Lopes is also known as Rose Lopes Atleta. According to NPC News Online, Lopes has no pro contests on record. So, this will be her professional debut.

Pereira was in the inaugural edition of this show in 2022, when she placed fifth. That was her highest placing in three pro contests that year. She will begin her second year in the pro ranks at this contest.
Simara Walter
Walter earned her pro card in 2022 at the NPC Worldwide Champions Cup Pro Qualifier event in May. She placed 11th in the Empro Pro and 13th in the Mr. Big Evolution Pro. Basso finished ahead of her in both contests.
Walter reported in an Instagram post that she’s been eating 1,400 calories daily to prepare for this contest with the hope of bringing more muscle to the stage.
