    Default Metaformin

Does anyone know if metaformin can help you gain weight like other long-acting injectable insulins?

Metformin is used for weight loss, it helps the body to use insulin more efficiently, and is known to reduce testosterone. I have read a couple good articles on it used in antipsychotic related weight gain for people who are mentally ill and on medication in which causes them to gain weight. I will try to find it post it for you to read. It's some what off topic for this site but will give you a general idea about metformin.

That's what I was reading on a lot of internet websites however they were not building websites so I just didn't know if they knew what I was trying to get out as a lot of people do not realize you can use insulin-like humulin or Novolog to gain weight I am a very lean individual and it is very hard for me to put on any kind of fat at all not that I really want to but at this point five or ten pounds wouldn't bother me at all as all my ads are showing with probably a half instration in between everyone.. I also have access to symlin and Novolog..I just know that Novolog is a little dangerous as far as how fast and how quick you need to eat after injection and even though I know what I'm doing as far as how many carbs per ou of insulin it is just better to be safe than sorry when it comes to this matter.. either way I definitely appreciate any advice brother, thank you. ..

How old are you? Stats? I have also read a lot from others posting that after long periods of use significant weight gain is achieved (not warranted). Now these postings are from individuals who have diabetes, PCOD, ect.... and are usually on other medications and taking doses of 1000 mg twice a day. Most have also reported severe diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, and painful bloating. Now they claim they have been on the same diet when this occurs as when they were loosing weight, but most of them are a bit fallacious, lets face it all of us perceive our selves as eating good but in reality were not. Wanting and doing one thing are completely different. Until a scientific study comes out stating, Metformin will help with weight gain with no or limited side effects, I would suggest to stay away. When it comes to insulin or anything that effects insulin properties, one needs to be very experienced and well versed on the subject and then it should be a last resort.

I'm 34 years old 6 foot 1 and 175 pounds and if I had to guess probably 8 to 10% body fat considering all my abs are in. It just seems very hard to gain weight. I'm not on a very strict diet as far as different foods for each meal however I am eating about 3000 calories a day of wheat pasta and ground beef. without my shakes included which I know I probably need to up to about 4500... I was going to ask to see if anyone on here knew of anyone how was good with diets and nutrition as I was thinking about getting one. For the last 6 weeks I've been thinking 500mg of test C a week. If anyone has any suggestions on nutrition for diets or on who I should talk to you about 1 I am open to all recommendations.

I am going to start my first tren A cycle at the begging of the year and i am going to sequester his help also. I have never had a problem gaining weight, but definitely find out as much info as possible before starting anything. This board is full of great people that will help out tremendously. Good Luck and keep posting!

Based solely on your stats I would say you do not need insulin and i wouldn't recommend metformin (glucophage) for anyone anyhow.
