Default Avoid Alcohol after training to gain muscle.

This study compared the effects of consuming 25g of protein to 25g of protein plus alcohol after a workout. It was found that consuming alcohol after a workout severely impaired post-workout muscle protein synthesis. If your goal is to gain muscle, avoid alcohol after your workout and consume alcohol in moderation when you do drink. Have fun but take care of your gains!

Probably a big reason why I've never gained more muscle than I have. I drink too much!

Plus the nasty hangovers blunt the recovery process and you often feel to lethargic to even train or eat correctly.

So we can sum this up this way "don't drink alcohol" it does nothing productive for your end goal; that is unless your end goal is to look like everyone else walking the planet.

I love alcohol, but it doesn't love me. The perfect love/hate relationship. when I do drink which is rare any more I enjoy myself and know that the fun I have having tonight is just cheating on tomorrow, so I might as well really have a blast because the next day is miserable.
