Ladies, how do you deal...

Let me start off by saying 80% of the people I work w/ are overweight and the rest are skinny fat (including the guys). I'm not at Jenn's level by any means, but I've got some muscle on me. NONE of my coworkers go to the gym. There isn't even a "cardio queen"! A few do own the Shake Weight and the Skechers Shape Up shoes...does that count?? HA! Anyway, back to my question. Ladies, how do you deal w/ "normal" looking people making comments like "careful, you don't want to get too big" or "guys like girls w/ curves". Ok I get that one, but I don't consider fat rolls to be the kind of curves guys find attractive. And who are they to tell me what I want or don't want to look like?! Why do they think it's ok to comment on my body, but if i were to say "careful, you don't want to get too fat" I'd be a bitch! So I don't say anything. I'm pretty laid back and I choose my battles. I also have to work w/ these people 40+ hours a week so I try and keep the peace. It just gets old. Ok, I'm done venting. Just wondering if anyone else has to deal w/ this same bs. And if any guys are sneakin a peek at this get your girls to start posting. Aside from Jenn I have no other female friends who understand this lifestyle. It can get lonely. Would be nice if more girls joined and we can all vent together! :)

LMFAO, that was too funny! I do not know why people feel they can give you their opinion when you don't even ask for it. And you're right if you were to tell them "careful, you keep eating like that you will get fatter" you would be considered a bitch. I used to get told I was too skinny, then I have been asked why do you want to look like a man? I have heard it all too. I think you are taking the high road since you have to work with these people all the time, but it has to be hard. I remember I was training a woman who told me, now I don't want to look like you. She was obese and apparently doing 2lb db curls can turn you into a monster. Why she thought that was ok to say and not offensive is beyond me. I still took her money though and trained her anyways. Good thing is you like it, and your husband likes it and to hell with that bs. I also know it is a jealousy thing, I do not know why women feel the need to tear eachother down. It's easier to say shit like that to you than to do something about themselves.

I think most of the comments you are getting at work, especially from the other girls is rooted in jealousy. My wife's in the same boat and gets the "your too skinny" shit all the time and "why do you lift heavy weights, do you want to look like your husband" crap. She just uses it as motivation to reach her goals.

Yep....I get that kind of bs all the time from the ladies and some of the men also in my office. They feel the need to offer their thoughts on what I eat and dont eat while they still feed their faces with fast food or cookies and cakes. My husband (exbeanpole) is right. Jealousy has a LOT to do with it i think. I think maybe only one female in my office does any sort of working out, sporadically at that. Not surprising that she is one that doesnt make those comments. You know what?? My thoughts are....who the hell cares what people think about me? I sure as hell dont. I do my thing and it makes me happy! :)

Esp. when it comes to women, jealousy is a big prob. I've never really understood why women are so catty with each other. My wife also gets this shit to. Just about all the women she works with main priority is what kind of desert can they shove in there face. Then they bitch cause they are fat asses. Makes no sense.

I like that and feel the same way, the older I get the more other people's opinions of me mean nothing. Lots of women are catty which is sad, I have found very few who are not. I am genuinely happy for other's successes in life and I am too old to be jealous of anyone, and it is a total waste of time.
