I would love to know if any of you ladies have suffered with diastasis recti? If so, I would love to know how you overcame it. Thanks

just to help people understand.

Diastasis recti (also known as abdominal separation) defined as a separation of the rectus abdominis muscle into right and left halves

yep, many things contribute to it, my abs slightly ripped apart as well and its just one of those things lol

This is usually genetic. Not anything you can do about it. A lot of ppl think it looks good.

Just my .02

I'm digging up an old thread but what the hell....I noticed my abs became distended almost over night back in 2007....I went from flat and rippped to looking like I was in my 7th month....for many yrs I thought it was due to GH use but really doubted it cuz my low dosages. After about 9 yrs of doing MORE ab work, and competing several times in shows, where I did good despite my distention, i went to a Dr

He said I have a diastasis recti, seperating of abs, my insurance wont pay. So I tried Tupler techique, spend a few hundred buckos, and had very medicore results. The exercises ended taking almost an hour a day, an hour I didnt have, so after 4 months, went to another source which was only abt 7 min a day where you contract the abs and push both sides together. Not much for results either.

So now may consider surgery if I can find the right dr that can push it thru insurance, but lengthy lay off period from lifting. have checked out other programs, but not crazy to spend more $ on something that may not work. If I 100% knew one of these online programs would work, I would lay off lifting for as much as a yr like some say to.

So I'm back to scanning internet for solutions, I know for a fact my DR cost me at least one placing in my BB shows, although I hag great abs. I think surgery is OK but you have to have strong transverse muscles or the chance of re-occurence is high. I'm open to any suggestions at this point :(
