    Default Sore & Stiff shoulders

36 male, training seriously last 13+ years

Recently iv been waking up to very sore and stiff shoulders while sleeping. It's especially worse after training shoulders or chest.

The pain now is bad thoughout the day. I struggle to touch my opposite shoulder or raise my arm above horizontal without pain.

After a long warm up and stretching I can manage to train them up to heavy enough weight.

I don't know what is the cause of this pain. From some reading it leads me to believe it could be Tendinitis, Bursitis or maybe even arthritis...

I have began twice daily stretching sessions but pain still exists for now.

Anyone have any idea what it could be and how to deal with it?

Are you taking any gear? And do you mean your painfully sore in the joint or the muscle itself?

Nothing but TRT atm, yes in the joint. But hard to say where the source of the pain is. Tendon or Muscle is my guess. As I mentioned it could be Bursitis which is a pocket of fluid within the shoulder that is upset. But this is just me guessing. I don't know where to start with doctors as I need to identify the cause first. I ask here in the case it happened to other lifters and what the did about it.

there isnt much you can do about tendonitus , and it sounds like that might be the issue. I asked about gear cause you can have pain like you described , especially after waking up due to water retention froj the steroid in your case testosterone , pushing or putting pressure on your blood vessels, thus restricting proper blood flow until your up and moving around for a while. I know i have had that. but as you said its tough to say. But i do know tendonitus there isnt much you can do about

Hmm interesting, it does seem like inflammation which gets worse when sleeping.
If I do have any water retention from TRT I'll pop half a adex and see if I notice any relief.

I also was thinking if it's a joint issue Durobolin could help too.

So process of elimination to figure this out.

    Anyway thanks for your response

I have had shoulder issues for over 35 years and have had to work around them. IF you take Aleve does it feel better? What about a warm rice bag? Warming up the joint and getting extra fluid out of the joint will help. I have to hit shoulder in 2 days. No way to do it in one day, the pain will not let me. I have actually put VAsoburn on my shoulder to warm them up and get the blood flowing. Do you take a baby aspirin or low dose daily? That will help with blood flow and it is cheap.

Iv tried anti-inflammatorys before bed, and still have pain during sleep. No I haven't tried aspirin, might give it a go.

Shoulder day tomorrow so I'll see if iv had any improvement or still very painful during and after training.

Mostly front and then side. Rear is fine..

I guess it comes done to what gets used the most. The front being absolutely abused with many exercises that hit it.

Hold off on direct front shoulder training for a bit. Let it rest up
