I have been talking to this guy about starting an online business with Amway. From what I'm understanding, you set up your website and then direct people to purchase various things from going through your Amway website. They work with many other companies such as Apple, Under Armour, Best Buy and many many others. Basically if you have a friend that wants to buy a TV from Best Buy online, you have them go to your Amway website to get to Best Buy to buy their TV then you get credit for whatever they buy. You can also set it up to where you can offer them a discount on things as well.

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this, I know they do like $11.3 billion in direct sales every year.

It's a pyramid multi level sales, it's like selling AVON with different products or herba life

Presser is dead on. I tried this many years ago without a lot of luck. But I had very little time to work a pyramid scheme and have people parties, etc....

Yea, I don't have a lot of time to do this on the side, but I may give it a try, it's a small amount to put up to see if it'll work out. This may actually be the thing that gets me to finally get a tablet since I can get a kickback on the purchase

Most people run for the hills when you mention Amway, lol as im sure a lot of guys know what im talking about with people trying to corner them in the gym or have them come to a meeting about this great new opportunity , so my first instinct was to tell you its bullshit and to run the other way, but someone is getting rich selling Amway thats not even debatable , so maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones brutha! Most people dont take enough risk with biz ventures, myself included, so like i said i hope you do well with it, but it is a pyramid scheme, so as long as ur good with that then fuck it why not right!

but that shit right there felt like a knife going into my chest ! lmao

Presser is 110% on point. Steer Clear. Save your money. Its a scheme to get people to sign up under you. You'll never make money. All you'll do is spend you time to get people to sign up under you and so on. Its a scam at best.

I know more about it now after sitting down with a couple of the guys and I've got to talk to the old lady and see if she'd be interested in participating in this because I won't have much time to "network" and I think we all know that most people would be more inclined to listen to a woman than a guy about shit like this. MY sister is always looking to make a buck so she may be interested in doing this as well, but I'm certainly going to talk to some people before I fully commit to anything that way I'm not squandering away money.

like presser said I run when I hear amway, I have been to some meetings and theres 1 guy who started it in the area some 20 years ago who is banking and the others all think they can achieve what he did but everyone of them is making HIM money. it's almost cult like imo at some of the meetings, they wont buy toothpaste, toilet paper etc unless its from amway.

yeah I would not do do it, i would use my time to concentrate on other business ventures ,lol, but not amway

Yep, I'd steer clear too. You only really make money if you sign people up to sell under you and it is impossible to sign people up for anything these days. My wife sells Avon and the market is just over-saturated with people selling Avon, Thirty-One, Mary Kay, and everything else under the sun.

I agree, tried the Shamway thing many yrs ago w/no success and lots of pissed freinds. Like the old joke: Whats the longest bus trip in America? Answer: The one where your sitting next to a Amway dealer

Bottom line: People like a hands on to buy a lot of stuff, not a catalog. I know online shopping now is huge but dammit I still want to feel what I'm buying before I pay for it

Well, despite all of your input, I went ahead and jumped into this after talking to several family members, friends and of course my gf. So far we've had 2 bonuses cashed in. It hasn't been much, but $50+ each time. I know I'll never make a career out of this, nor do I want to (I have a career job), but I thought it was something that could keep the gf occupied and unemployed all while making us a little bit of money. So far it's been good, the makeup line they have has been pretty good.

She does a lot of her friend's hair and makeup so she's able to take her stuff with her then tell them what she's using which in turn has resulted in some sales. I was actually amazed at what all they have to sell and how you can earn "points" through certain other companies that associate with Amway (Best Buy, Apple, Office Depot, Under Armour, REI...)

I'm not big into pushing things on friends or family so I'm not going to start that shit. Most of the friends and family I talked to only knew about their cleaning products and used them in the past until they couldn't get them any longer. So right off the bat I had a couple of customers which was nice.

Anyway, like I said, I'm not out to make a fortune or even top my income now, but if I come out a little bit ahead I'm more than happy since it's better than her sitting on the couch bringing nothing to the table

Haha, I know it seems like a cult and there's a reason that most people only use Amway products. It's mainly because if you buy from yourself, you earn points from the purchase. So essentially, if you buy everything through your own business instead of going to Wal-Mart to get them, you will earn a bonus each month for it so you actually get money back for buying through yourself. It's like using a Discover card lol

lol, thats exactly what I said to him, i mean i first said its 99.99999% bullshit, but someone, somewhere is getting rich off this shit, so who knows maybe it can be him! Who am I to shit on anyones idea or dream just cause I dont see it!

I will admit though if he gets filthy rich i will be jealous, angry and upset lmao and maybe a tad bit happy for him, MAYBE LOL
