    Default Diaries of An Ectomorph

Ectomorph, it just sounds like the freakish of all body types to be cursed with; like anorEXIA sort of. And the double-death? Skinny-fat body-type! That is me. I have a solid 10 years of lifting under my belt. When I started I was a small-fry in the gym and still am. I weighed 170lbs. at 6'2". After a few years I got some good gains; reached 200lbs--all the way up to 230lbs. However, it was hard to maintain; eating was so tiresome and nearly broke my budget plus I shit four times a day and it consumed my life. In addition, I am a normal human being, I don't have to LUXURY to eat every three hours and drop what I am to cook up chicken breast with a side of sweet potatoes and veggies. I have tried every workout regiment know to man: HIT, 5x5, HST, German High-Volume, Standard Split, ect. Now I work at nights and often am so busy even a bathroom break can be a luxury at times. Back to 6'2" 215lbs. I eat 5-7 times a day, and even that is tiresome. Up my calories and I get a fat belly, and NOTHING looks worse than a skinny guy with a belly! I am a natty and looking for advice I guess. Legs like white-washed toothpicks, arms like Gwyneth Paltro, and a abdomen like Danny Devito no matter how hard I hit it. This is all I have to show for a lifetime!

Anyone can be a big man online. Don't post your lifting stats! If you want to impress someone join a competition. I am tired of hearing shit like: Joe Glass; 5'8" 132lbs; Squat 495; Bench 385; Dead; 620.

Well, my goal is to get up to 265 and then 285, but I feel that is impossible. I suppose joining a real gym may work? Any advice? I currently workout in my basement (better than living in my parents basement, but not much). I have a squat rack and bench and a few dumbbells, a mustache bar, and an ab wheel. I have a few aggravating injuries as well, so I don't really bench; I get by with push ups, and because of the low ceiling I do pull ups by setting the bar as high as it will go and crossing my legs Indian style while hanging from the bar--this is an extreme pain in the ass and I feel really blunts my progress.
