    If you want to reach your goals and move up in the world, your mental state of mind will become vital to your success. In the words of rap legend Drake, “There are more people that want it than people who have it.”
    The world is hyper competitive and if you want to succeed there are many X factors you must fine-tune. One of those X factors is your mental strength. This is perhaps your greatest defense in dealing with adversity on your climb to the top.
    Ask anyone that has achieved tremendous amounts of success in the world and they will tell you that they dealt with a lot of adversity. The beauty of striving to be the best version of yourself is the life skills you learn along the way.
    Life can throw tremendous left hooks and curve balls at you. If you have lofty goals you are bound to go through adversity at some point. The sooner you start developing the mental strength of a true champion the faster you will succeed.
    Life’s too short to let stuff sideline you on the climb to the top.
    USE THESE 5 STRATEGIES DAILY TO DEAL WITH ANY BIT OF ADVERSITY AND FORGE A MENTALLY STRONG ATTITUDE.

    5 WAYS TO BECOME MENTALLY STRONGER


    1. FOCUS ON WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL

    One of the best strategies to becoming mentally stronger is to put all of your focus on what you can control. Far too often people put focus on things out of their control. This leads to a fear based mindset.
    Just ask the producer of your local news. The media and news stations figured out long ago if they struck fear into your heart they could instantly grab your attention.
    The serial killer on the loose, plane crash, and 15-car pile up on the interstate are examples of things that should not affect your reality.
    Action Step:
    Whenever your mind wanders into a fear based mentality you need to catch yourself and immediately rehash your goals and life passions.
    Next put all of your focus on the activity you can focus on that day which will get you to your goals.
    Visualize all of the amazing things that can happen in your life from focusing on the most important task of the day and fall in love with the process!
    This simple mental reframe will pay huge dividends to your mental strength in the long run.
    2. IGNORE THE NAYSAYERS

    The people who achieve the most success in this world all share one powerful mindset. They have an “I don’t give a shit attitude” towards any doubters and naysayers.
    One of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 6 rules of success is to “ignore the naysayers.” This is a man that had to deal with tremendous amounts of adversity to get to the top.
    Arnold had a ton of naysayers and if he listened to them at any point he would not have achieved the success he had.
    The higher your goals are the more people that will try to bring you down. Most of these people are merely jealous of your drive and ambition.
    The sign of a truly mentally strong person is to take tremendous pride that you are trying to reach the top and form an incredible amount of pride around it.
    Take this quote from fitness legend Greg Plitt. “Normality is what average people call living – I call it death.” This was a man that took huge amounts of pride in looking different and having greater ambitions than the average person.
    Action Step:
    Every time that someone doubts your goals or tries to bring you down try this simple reframe. Instead of doubting yourself and second-guessing your path choose to feel sorry for that person.
    Realize that they lack the drive and ambition to confidently stand out and take chances. Understand that this naysayer is simply jealous and is trying to poison drip you from reaching your full potential.
    3. CLEAR VISION = STRENGTH

    One of the best ways to forge a mentally strong attitude is to have a clear vision on your goals and where you want to go. When you wake up every day with a purpose you are far less likely to let anything bring you down.
    Some of the most successful people in world history visualize their success and life on a daily basis. It is so easy to get caught up in the rat race of life. Having clear vision and taking the time to visualize this dream will ensure that every action has a purpose.
    You must know what you want and be on the attack to get there. This is the mindset of a mentally strong person!
    Action Step:
    Take time each day to visualize exactly where you want your life to be in 1 year, 5 years and 10 years. Visualize how great it would be to reach your goals and step foot into your future shoes through intense visualization. This vision should be something that excites you and drives you to get through any adversity you face each day.
    4. DON’T TRY TO BE LIKE ANYBODY ELSE


    Another common trait among mentally strong people is they embrace their unique traits and who they are. Mentally strong people don’t waste time comparing themselves to others or striving to fit into society.
    They confidently take chances and embrace being a unique character even if that means they stick out from the norm.
    Take for instance this quote from the book The 50th Law. “The greatest fear people have is that of being themselves. They want to be 50 cent or someone else. They do what everyone else does even if it doesn’t fit where and who they are. But you get nowhere that way, your energy is weak and no one pays attention to you. You’re running away from the one thing that you own – what makes you different.”
    Action Step:
    Do not get in the habit of ever comparing yourself to anybody else or feeling bad about being unique. We are all born with unique traits and skills. Make your uniqueness your asset by embracing who you are and practicing self-love. This does not mean narcissism – but rather the confidence to walk around each day embracing everything about your self.
    5. DO WHAT YOU FEAR

    This one is so powerful it will transform your life instantly. Have you ever been really scared to do something and once you pushed yourself to do it you realized it wasn’t that bad?
    Once this mentality becomes a daily habit you will have the mental fortitude of a true champion.
    In the illustrious words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Do what you fear and you will fear no more.”
    The most mentally strong people in the world push themselves outside their mental comfort zone on a daily basis.
    Just like working out and developing physical strength, mental strength should be practiced daily.
    Robert Greene quote’s in the book The 50th Law, “Your fears are a kind of prison that confines you within a limited range of action. The less you fear, the more power you will have and the more fully you will live.”
    Once you get outside the confines of your own head you will instantly become mentally stronger.
    Action Step:
    Get in the habit of doing something that is mentally outside your comfort zone every single day. This can be something as simple as approaching an attractive girl or pushing for that sales call you have been putting off.
    One powerful mental reframe is to get excited about doing something outside your comfort zone instead of forming a fear based mentality around it. Focus on how happy you will be when you lay down at night knowing that you went outside your comfort zone and get a little bit stronger that day.
