The Cleveland Browns waived quarterback Johnny Manziel on Friday after a rocky two seasons with the organization. The Texas native was drafted No. 22 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M.

In his two seasons, he completed 147-of-258 passes for 1,675 yards, seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also carried the football 46 times for 259 yards, one touchdown and seven fumbles.

Manziel is being released for his troubles off-the-field, however. Here is a timeline of the events that led to today's decision:

Aug. 19, 2014 - During a preseason football game against the Washington Redskins, Manziel gives the bench the middle finger. He was fined $12,000.

Nov. 24, 2014 - A fan approaches Manziel and his 'crew' in the lobby of his apartment building. The fan reported that Manziel's friends beat him up.

Jan. 28, 2015 - Manziel voluntarily checks in to a rehabilitation facility in Pennsylvania. He was released from the facility in April.

Jun. 1, 2015 - The Texas native was heckled at a golf tournament by an 18-year old fan. He threw a water bottle in the person's general direction.

Oct. 12, 2015 - Manziel was involved in a domestic incident with girlfriend Colleen Crowley. The couple reportedly had a few beers downtown before heading home. Crowley tried to exit the vehicle while in motion and the quarterback grabbed her to stay inside the vehicle. No charges were filed.

Nov. 7, 2015 - Manziel was caught partying in College Station, Texas two days after making a start against the Cincinnati Bengals. Manziel lied about the incident and was demoted to third string.

Nov. 17, 2015 - Manziel was caught partying on video again. The Browns reported that he had suffered a concussion. He is seen in Las Vegas on the night before a concussion check with the team, which he missed. He was fined for the incident.

Nov. 26, 2015 - The former Texas A&M quarterback was seen partying in Dallas.

Jan. 30, 2016 - Police respond to a 911 call from the quarterback's ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley. A domestic assault investigation would stem from the call. Crowley told police that she feared for Manziel. A helicopter was sent in search of him but it was determined that he was safe. During the exchange, Crowley's ear drum had ruptured.

Jan. 31, 2016 - Manziel's father, Paul, tells the Dallas Morning News that he attempted to admit his son in to Enterhealth Ranch addiction facility in Van Alstyne, Texas.

Feb. 2, 2016 - Paul tries to admit his son to Carrollton Springs Hospital in Carrollton, Texas citing his son as suicidal. Manziel does not stay at the facility.

Feb. 3, 2016 - Crowley files for restraining order against Manziel. The request was granted.

Feb. 5, 2016 - Agent Erik Burkhardt drops Manziel as a client.

Feb. 25, 2016 - The Dallas Police Department reports that the investigation in to the Jan. 30 incident has come to a close. Later in the day, it is reported that the case has been referred to the grand jury for a Class A domestic assault misdemeanor. Manziel was seen partying in Miami later that night.

Mar. 9, 2016 - The Browns announce the official release of Manziel.

Well I so embarrassed to say he is from my state. A lot of high hopes with this guy - outstanding college career but he totally got lost in the partying world and he totally went bust in the big leagues. Very sad for a young guy with so much potential. Time to head to the CFL....

Guys who enter the draft, particularly thoee expected go draft high, should have to take a class on how to handle the NFL life.

Call it Pro Football Reasignment Class just to appease the liberals.

yeah that was this geniuses advice lol, not stay home, dont go out partying, but yeah its ok as long as you have a fall guy

what does the position pay? and how does a person apply?:gold:

I already knew this guy would be a flop. He went to the draft to early, that Heisman win was the worst thing that could have happened to him, he got a hot head and it was all down hill from there.

He already had the Hot Head. Forget Johnny money or whatever the hell his moniker was in college was something he had long before the draft.

Well the NFL got their money from his name/popularity and ditched him. Once you stop making the business money it's time to go. To bad money is always the thing that's makes decisions or this guy would have never been drafted at all, I wish that was the case, pure shitbag!
