I used to love doing yard work, work on my vehicles, home improvement stuff and at times it rivaled my bodybuilding interests. Over the years I've kind of sized myself out of alot of it. Before the trucks my wife and I had C6 Corvettes. When we bought the land in TN we planned on moving up there in the near future and Corvettes just weren't going to cut it. I did 99% of the work on the vehicles from maintainence to performance stuff. Now we both have the big trucks and I can no longer do alot of the work. My neck is fused so I can't get under the trucks to do oil and filters. My arms are too big to get into alot of areas and because of my strength I pull muscles real easily. I had to have my dad pick me up from my buddies house when I dropped Silks truck off for work. They both drive Convertible C6 Corvettes and I could barely fit.. and that was after it took me 10 minutes to safely get in..
I also used to love doing yard work. I hadn't had a house since maybe 2007 and we just bought one. We pay someone to do mowing and trimming since we dont have the tools and don't really want to fill up the garage with the stuff and have more crap to maintain. Well also have a nicely landscaped lawn and the trees needed to be cleaned up. 30 minutes in and I pulled that muscle in my upper lat / tricep insertion. It seems anytime I have to use any force on anything I pull something. I even have to be careful walking my puppy as she is getting bigger and I strained my calf one time when she yanked me and I took a longer step. If I didn't have IGF I would literally go from one injury to the next...
As you guys know I'm more on a maintanence type thing so my training isnt crazy nor is it all that frequent... I did some IGF right in the area and took some Ibuprofen. I trained yesterday so I won't train again for like two days and then it's legs, so by the time I get to upper body it will be healed, but it's frustrating as shit. If I didnt have a good buddy that does all the work on my vehicles I would be bone dick broke just from the normal stuff I can't do any longer

I LOVE doing Gardening! My wife being the little spic-a-rican that she is, has this gardening shit in her blood and wel it grew on me, it took about 12 years but for the last few years i have loved gardening and making our house the prettiest on the block, and we have had people walk by and tell us how its the nicest garden around and i get of on that shit!

I love planting flowers and doing all the landscaping type of shit, but pay a landscaper to mow lawn and collect leaves in fall, and we do the fine detail shit

now that we moved into a new house, the guy across the street is like mr fucking lawn man! has the greenest nicest lawn i ever seen and he is constantly out there mowing it, and watering it, and seeding it, I seen him out there at 5am before work over the end of winter laying down seed! This guy takes Pride in his shit and ill admit he has the nicest lawn in our neigborhod!

This year will be my first spring in the new house, so im gonna do shit up nice! Drive way lights, spot light,s flowers out the mother fucking ass,

but yeah i love this shit! It costs a shit ton of money though to do it right lol, i mean a shit ton!

The house behind me, the guy just put in a pond with fish in his back yard with a water spout in the middle and it sounds so fucking calming hearing the water trickling into the pond, we can hear it and enjoy it from our deck, so works for me lol

So yeah my area, its like a giant fucking contest of whos shit looks better!

It is crazy how expensive lawn stuff gets... we made a 3 tier planter and made a succulent garden.. I've got like $300 into that thing alone... I really enjoy doing the stuff myself, but I swear I always end up hurting myself somehow..

I do all the maintenance on our vehicles from oil changes to brakes and replacing alternators, spark plugs and shit. I even had the balls to pull the supercharger off the wifes Mercedes to replace a 12 dollar vac hose that the dealer wanted 2800 to replace. I have quite a bit of acreage and a big zero turn to keep it all in check and I plant a garden every year and grow some of the basics, tomatoes, squash, okra, cucumbers and eggplant. Nothing like home grown tomatoes that actually bite you back when you bite into them. I keep the vehicles, boats, quads, bikes and RV looking good with the pressure washer. It's therapeutic for me to get out and work around the house.

Ive done electrical and plumbing on the house, and retiled the bathroom. I used to rebuild old cars for fun, but all this smog and computer shit cars have now is beyond me

We live on a corner lot in a neighborhood now, but we have 11 acres in the mountains in TN that we are going to build a house on in the next few years. I can't wait to have a shop and be able to have a real garden. I go out every morning to take the dog out and clean up and trim the plants. I love it. I've developed a pretty stout green thumb. It's really satisfying and calming.
I actually screwed up one of the bathroom sinks and my realtor who was also my boss for several years came over and fixed it and replaced all kinds of stuff. Impressed the shit out of me. He's a Realtor and has another 50+ hour a week job and owns like 10 homes and he does all the maintanence from plumbing to electrical... he has worked his ass to the bone... he's retiring in a few months. He's going to spend 6 months in Greece and 6 months here. His 30 year old girl (that he's been with for 10 years) is having a hard time not having a career and just enjoying life with him... man sign me up! Guy has more money than he could ever spend, but drives a 12 year old Volkswagen!

People that make their own money are frugal for the most part. The trust fund babies will blow theirs to show off what they got. If you are thinking of ways to make money with the money you make you are on the right path. If you are thinking of ways to spend that money on depreciating assets you are going to fall at some point.

No I'm no gambler.. even if I'm not going to do something I will still ask about it. I have no big money goals in life. I just want to enjoy time with my family and friends. I don't like being indebted to anyone. Even the idea of property taxes burns my ass... so wait... I pay you money based on the value of stuff I own and paid for??? And you determine how much I pay and where it goes?? Anyone else see the problems there?

I've never understood that either it makes zero sense to me. Then they give you a homestead exemption for a certain dollar amount to try to make you feel better about it lmfao.

yeah its all fucked up! What is even worse is buying a car, you pay taxes and then when you sell it, the person buying it has to pay taxes on it again, and so on and sor forth as many times as it is sold! lol, I mean the taxes were paid on the fucking thing with the very first owner, why the state needs to tax someone for buying a car that has already been paid up on with taxes is fucking ludicrous !

I bought my daughter a used car from a family friend, they listed the sale as $1 so we didnt have to pay taxes on it, and the state sends us a bill for the taxes on the car under its blue book value, lol, Can you fucking believe these assholes! They apparently didnt believe us when we listed how much we paid for the car to avoid paying taxes on the car again, lol, so they asked for proof of purchase showing $1

its fucking insane!

That used to be a loophole but they have closed it now Presser. They will always pull the blue book value and give you the shaft now. Now you have to say the motor is blown and the car is going to be restored so hopefully they toss you a bone.

For me, it really depends. Depends on whether or not I like doing the chore, or task, or project, or whatever, for one thing. Also depends on whether I trust someone else to do the job to "my standards". And to a lesser extent, how much will it cost to have someone do it. All of the foregoing assumes I'm capable of doing whatever it is.

For instance: I hate painting. So unless it's a pretty small job, chances are it's getting hired out. But drywall and taping, while not my favorite thing to do, I know I will get a good finished product if I do it myself and have seen WAY too many crappy taping/spackling jobs to let anyone else do it.

With cars, I was a Benz tech for close to 20 years. I am SO SICK of working on cars, I pay someone to do my maintenance. My bike, on the other hand, as well as my wife's, nobody touches those two Harleys but me. I do EVERYTHING to those bikes, including tires.

My wife and I take care of our own yard and landscaping; for her a labor of love, for me just a pain in the ass chore, though I do like the looks.

I am building a good sized garage pretty much by myself. Ling time ago I was a framing contractor, and I actually enjoy building things, plus I want it "just so" - and this is a place where cost savings plays a role also. Likewise with building a gym in my basement. I've done all of that work myself as well. Meaning all the wall framing, electric, drywall, flooring, etc.

But when it comes time to pressure wash and stain the house (we have a log home that requires washing/staining every few years), that gets hired out.

a loophole, please a loop hole is when you find a work around to something you should be paying, this i wouldnt consider a loop hole, its just a dumb fucking law where the government tries to bang you for taxes repeatedly on the same fucking vehicle, thats a fuckhole, or asshole, but not a loop hole lmao

And it's only getting worse man. Something has to stop our out of control government
