Default New guy looking for a home

    Greetings everybody,

I have been reading this site for more than a year and I have finally decided to take the plunge and join in hopes that I can find this forum as a home for guidance and knowledge moving forward. Please forgive me for any errors ahead of time as I am on mine mobile phone with limited access to a computer.

Alittle bit about me... I'm 30 years been active for the past 15 years in the gym, graduated in 2009 from a major university on a track scholarship. Since then I have hit the real world and only have the ability to work out 3 to 4 times a week. Luckily my Fiance is a dietitian in has over 10 years experience so my food is taken care of. We also grow all of our fruit and vegetables in our backyard, so we try to minimize any GMO and preservatives in our food.

I'm really looking forward to chatting with all of y'all. Long story short I have recently sent out assistance for getting on a trt protocol. I have visited three endocrinologist, my uncle is an endocrinologist as well and has unofficially diagnosed me with low T, but in recent T checks from Low T center, the total T came back "normal" bit my SHBG both times has come back low. I am tired of experiencing these symptoms and barely able to get out of bed.

Please advise, but I will.post in the appropriate section when I'm near a computer

There is an idea of who I am: some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me; only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel my flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.

Well... a pretty smart guy I know recommends running some testosterone for 10 weeks and then allowing yourself to crash and schedule a blood test during this time. Unfortunately like everything people struggle with liability. no one wants to prescribe test unless it blindingly obvious that you are deficient. Everyone worries about the guy they prescribe test to that comes back and sues them 5 years later when he gets cancer, diabetes, hemorrhoids, whatever.. contact a sponsor. Get some stuff and plan schedule a blood test 4 weeks after your last shot... it's the initial diagnosis that is the issue. Once youre there you're good. Just what I've heard..

Thanks dude. I thought about doing a cycle and then going and getting the test done, but I dont want to look jacked and then walk in there and red flag me or something. Then again, I'm new to TRT.

It pisses me off to no end having doctors, even a family doctor who is an endocrinologist, tell me I need it, but won't go through with helping me get on a protocol.

I want to respect the board and plave this topic in the appropriate section, unless continuing this thread is alright?

It's a significant dissipointment that doctors are terrified to prescribe TRT. I meant I get it with the liability and possibility of abuse. But still, this is no joke.

Where is the appropriate section to post my situation? You guys are jam packed with knowledge. I love it!

I am on trt. I am 40. Been on since 36. I don't see an endo. I see internal medicine for adults. There are too many places that to trt. I see a regular internal medicine dr who also does trt and weight-loss with everything else adults development. Don't look for a dr who specializes in hormones look for one who does trt alot do and my insurance covers mine. It's business for Dr's. And as long as they have proof u low and blood is always good no problem. My testosterone was 146 when I got on.

U said your test was 300 but your sbhg was low. Lower sbhg allows us more free testosterone. I constantly am trying to lower mine regardless of a test.
I don't know how low you were but low sbhg is a marker of other diseases of metabolic syndroms. Trt is for life and it will not get u big like steroids just saying. I would check into other things at your age. U may have low dopamine levels. Don't know if u on ssri's.if u cycled and just at a low point after or what.

Thanks for the replies. Feel free to crack a chuckle as my TRT jargon won't be up to par. I have 5 doctors in the family, and long story short, they have brought up my health a few time over the years. Asking me why I am losing weight, when they see me eat healthy and see me at the gym.. But they noticed that my attitude and overall sense of well being has diminished greatly. My Uncle, who is an endo, but REFUSES to treat family, has told me i am exhibiting signs of low T and I should get my blood drawn. So I went to my Primary care doctor and asked if he could check my blood and see if anything is abnormal. he gave me push back and suggested that I seek out a more rigorous exercise regimen, and make healthier life choices. It was ridiculous. I put my foot down and asked to go see a endo (at the time I thought I was doing the right thing...) and he referred me.

I visited the endo and it was a mistake and he told me that he wants to review my file to see what medications I was on, so he could offer another..Beyond pissed, I went to a LowT center and they drew my blood on the first visit. For Aetna to cover it, my total test had to come back under 350ng/dl, with my SBHG being under 6, on 2 blood draws taken before 10:30 a.m on separate days. First draw came back with total T low around 404ng/dL, but my SBHG was at a 5.1pg/m. So I per the SBHG being under 6, my first test counted. Second test 2 weeks later. I got 13 hours of sleep (first time over 5 hours in 3 months)and went in and they tested total T value of 568, with my SBHG being a 6.1 - so the second test didn't count. Regardless, with insurance i am looking at $22.00 a week for a shot and a doctor visit. That price doesn't fit my budget as I just built my first home, and I am getting married in 11 days..

I waited a month due to work obligations and nothing changed. Depressed, irritable, lethargic, no desire for anything at all.. So I went to lab corp and got a Pre Hormone TRT panel last week. I have the results for that as well. My total T came back a 657.1 ng/dL, with my Free test being low at 6pg/mL with a range of 8.7-25.1. My Free seems to be the culprit, and I'm tired of jumping through hoops on something that I feel like I need. Since i am flying blind here, I am asking for everybody's guidance and direction on if a TRT protocol will be a best course of action for me. Now, if you look at my bloods, and see something different from the ranges, or the measurements, forgive me as I'm learning as I go. I wanna show you guys the BT results, so let me know if I can do it here, or wherever.

Thanks again everybody. Very warm welcome so far and I appreciate it.

I read another thread. About the 300. Lol was kind of driving in traffic.
If u getting married consider u and wife may want kids.
If I were u I would cycle 2 times a year until u have your kids at least u will feel what more t feels like. On my labs they always test tt and figured out free test don't know method my Dr uses. Or lab
I let him read labs! I get into trouble when I try. Also my labs are always good only doing low oral dose to moderate 4 weeks twice a year and I blast with mostly test a little deca sometimes tren. But get off before in advance.

Hmmm... The results seem a little confusing. With your total testosterone results coming in at 404 and then 568 and then 657, that's well within the normal range. If your free testosterone is low however, that would actually indicate that SHBG is high. Double-check your tests as you said earlier that SHBG was low. You may have been looking at the total free testosterone results there. I have seen some docs prescribe testosterone in this kind of a case. I would suggest you see a urologist. Endocrinologists tend to be way too conservative for some unknown reason I can't fathom except unless they are trying to keep themselves out of a malpractice suit. (I did have one endo say exactly that to me as the reason he wouldn't give me a more "hearty" dosage even though he knew I wouldn't be properly treated.) Urologists tend to give more because they are looking at sexual function as well as the overall picture, and they know it usually takes a larger dosage to achieve that.

My apologies, putting all the results in to a sentence is difficult as this is new to me.

I have my most recent test available from lapcorp that I ordered that give a full pre trt hormone panel. But I will look into a urologist and see what they say.

Feel bad for you, but keep in mind that your T levels are not that bad 404, 568, 657.( I was at 147 when I finally got a script) Remember once you get on there is no getting off ( ok now I will step down from my soap box and try to help you). If you want to get your TRT, follow The Dude's advise from above. Also strick up conversation with 40/50 year olds that have a decent body at the gym, most are pretty open about TRT if they are on it. Ask them about their doctor and usually you will find a more progressive minded doc...........the guys in the gym will know.

    BTW welcome to the forum.

Thanks guys. All this is very helpful. Atleast I'm not alone. But I see and understand the commitment. But the fact that you guys express it, shows that you have a genuine concern for other people's wellbeing.

I reread thedudes post and he said to contact a sponsor.. here on MC?

I see a urologist for my TRT - he scoffs at the studies saying test causes heart issues and counters them with better studies showing men on TRT have far better health than those not on it.

Everyone has a right to their opinion! But I saw it was an accident. Lol!
U will like it here at MC there is no bashing and it allows for real posts of real problems and answers. Anyone can put what they want of coarse but our site reps find the spammers and we all can see overtime who we can trust be activity on here and helpful posts. Consistency means alot and interests in more than one place about posts.
I am referring to misguided posts given about gear and whatever else. Follow the advice of those u may wanna mirror and don't listen to everything u read on Internet. Alot of us have experimented on ourselves for years and years and have found what works. Also we all respond different than each other to somethings but someone else always responds in the way we do. Our chemical makeup of our bodies and it's response will be same as some but not others. But there are certain bases of things that we all will respond to the same but maybe different amounts

What The Dude was suggesting is that you get some testosterone, use it for a long enough period to shut down your body's own testosterone production, then stop. Then after your testosterone levels fall (as your body processes the exogenous (meaning from an outside source) testosterone and it gets all "used up" and clears your system), get another blood test. At that point, your total test levels will be in the toilet. You'll feel like total shit, but this is a way to get your levels low enough on paper that a doc shouldn't have a reason not to prescribe trt.

The "visit sponsor" comment refers to the various companies that advertise on this site. We do not talk about sources for illegal products here. But look around, visit the sites of a couple of site sponsors and you'll figure it out. You will see several representatives from some of these sponsors here also. They have contact info you can use to ask questions about products, etc.

Thanks for clearing that up. I greatly appreciate it. I have an appointment with a urologist when I get back from my honeymoon. If things don't go well. I'll determine the right course of action when I cross that bridge.

In the meantime I'll be on the beach drinking a few suds!
