When does it become dangerous to have high hemoglobin? I donated today and I was at 19.3 the Red Cross said the cut off is 20. I’ve heard that testosterone raises it however I’ve been the same range with a test level of 299 or 1400

It varies from place to place. I was told mine was too high 18.5 at one place, but was given the OK at another place. 19.3 is pretty high. Hopefully it dropped a few at points after your donation. I take it you don't donate too often?

I try to. I haven’t done it since spring so I could and should do it more. The red cross took the pint and 4 tubes then an hour later I had to swing by the doc and give another 4 tubes so hopefully it’s down a little more but I’m going to do it on schedule when it’s time to donate again

Ask your Dr for a standing order.
Mine is as needed

Ya I’ve been asking I’ll find out on tue what it’s at now. Since August I’ve only eaten red meat 2 or 3 times. No spinach or multi vitamins

It's common when first getting on TRT with alot of guys.
After sometime alot if guys adjust or their body does.
But most guys need to donate at least every 60 days on TRT some may not.

Depending on your Dr it can go 2 ways.
- He can wanna lower your dose or take u off for a while, which is stupid and enough for me to change Dr's.
- Or if he knows what he is doing will get u paper work on TRT guidelines and spinning blood that allows TRT patient to donate more.
It's up to your Dr to fill in blanks of how often state the reason and minimum
hemo % to have goal # to keep within.
The paperwork is reviewed by pathologists
And after that only requirements are being within heart rate and blood pressure and temp at time of screening.

My numbers were towards the top before trt. My dose has been lowered and I really feel the difference on that. I’m kinda stuck Ive tried other doctors don’t want to do trt seems to be a four letter word around here

Even Dr in TRT forum here would of done same order if I switched.
I asked in thread prolly around 10 months back.
My Dr does it and says it's necessary with some patients.
I know other Dr's here all do same and blood bank benifits from it.
I can go get on pellets also not covered for 100 a month's with order from there too.
But was told pellets are more stable at mimicking body so may be less problem??

The hemo problem is from hepiciden production affected in liver!! Testosterone affects it. Either slows or .....
It only takes a sec to Google and find out...
