Many people have goal physiques and seek to obtain a level of leanness or muscular development of someone else. There's not much wrong with this, as long as you take into account that how your muscles exactly look when they grow for a large part depends on genetic factors.

For example, where your muscle inserts (where muscle attaches to the tendon) dictates the size of your muscle bellies. Because of this, two similarly developed biceps can look quite different. See the picture of this post for a good example.

This is part of the reason why I prefer to make people focus on improving the way they currently look and feel, rather than trying to be like someone else.

This is exactly right!! We all develope to our genetic look and shape. So getting in our top shape fitness and putting muscle on us!!
We can change proportions that are lacking but we can't turn into that other guy!!

What is funny is at gym 1 of them I go to out chain has Alot of cops that are competing in bodybuilding.
Sure i speak to them about training but earphones in so it's small talk now and then. Some of them I think they are beast and look great, well they told me same and really admired me other day saying I looked way big and my bf% staying fairly low for most of time they were amazed.

So who we admiring in bodybuiding may be seeing parts if us they seek!
We also see all of our defects while others see our strong points
