This is brutal. Training chest and back is proving to be quite difficult. What do you guys do during this time? I really don't want to aggravate anything and thus extend recovery time, but I'm losing muscle here not training...

Also, when it comes to healing, I've heard MC's IGF can help to speed up recovery for muscle injuries. I've heard a few guys report this anecdotally. Any thoughts?

Anti inflammatories, collagen, joint repair supps. I believe in active recovery so I just keep everything light and easy when something is bothering me for a week or two before trying anything crazy.

i just recently tore my bicep and tendon. this was after about a month from injuring it before. i was also rehabbing it from where i tore my whole arm up in august. i ripped tendons muscles and ligaments in my forearm and bicep, all the way to my shoulder. it sucked.
best i can tell you is stay away from what caused the injury for a while and work around the injuries. granted the shoulder is involved so much in exercises. try to find ones that will not aggravate it too much. maybe you can do parallel dips and pull-ups. i found i could with mine at the time. i made the mistake of trying to do curls too soon.
like endure wrote, just take it easy. i think most us have ripped or torn something along the way through this lifestyle.

IGF is great for all injuries

Take the IGF and start back slow-if it hurts too much STOP

the fucking idiot that came up with the whole "Pain is Weakness Leaving the Body" is a FUCKING IDIOT

sit at home and jam your finger in your eye over and over see how much weakness is leaving then

use this chance to bring up some lagging parts if you can (legs, forearms, abs, lowerback, neck)

Thanks fellas.

Saw the doc today and it's not serious yet. He thinks I should be stretching throughout the day and doing other careful active recovery exercises.

So I will follow your your guys' advice all the way around and let you know how it goes.
