So what's your take on this Pandemic? Blown out of proportion or end of the world? Anyone?

Serious situation no question but the numbers don't add up to me. With that said, prayers to everyone affected in any way.

So many things that kill many more people like the regular flu and such. I do feel bad that people have died but that's what happens when you live, you can die.

50/50.. It's the elderly I feel for. We had our first death here in San Antonio. Woman in her 80's. My concern are with my folks. I've already told them absolutely no visitors to their house. All this panicking and the markets tanking is what is really pissing me off. Dow Jones in under 20,000 is just freaking crazy.

So everyone sees the death toll isn't that high and assume we over reacted but we will never know how bad it could or would be without social distance order. I highly doubt an uber capitalist president would have did this to the economy on his watch if it wasn't that serious and deadly!
At the end of the day the point is for it to look like an over reaction, that means we did our part! We will never know what we'll never know and I'm ok with that

Also I'm in New Jersey on lock down with my 6 year old twins lol going nuts!
Our state's head medical director says all of us will eventually get it, and many have said the same across the country! So if we're all going to get the corona virus then what's the point of shutting states down across the country you might ask.
To stagger the outbreak as to not overwhelm the health system all at once !!
I'm so broke I can't even pay attention lol so I get it man but this shit about us over reacting bothers me

1) The people that don't care are typically people that are not on the frontlines of healthcare
2) Comparing anything to something else (death vs death caused by) is an idiotic way to think.
(100 years ago the flu killed 56 million people with no planes going back & forth, no amazon
packages etc) ie "The flu kills more then wars have, so wars are never a big deal."
3) If you work in a cubicle & can't staple something for a few days bc you ran out of supplies
wtf cares. When the hospitals are overwhelmed already due to massive understaffing, & have no
supplies people die.
4) For a Country with the biggest defensive budget in the World, the lack of supplies stocked, the meds
needed only coming from China & India so pharma can make 9000% profit on each drug instead of 2000%
is called Gross Negligence. (Understand why it's important to actually oversee High dollar budgets yet?
Understand why pharma should not be looked at like Apple or LG yet? (ie asinine increase of prices of insulin
or epipens).
5) Someone just mentioned "there are only 11 positive cases in all of Indian River County. (sounds like nothing
worry about huh?) The pertinent info left out is: ONLY 99 WERE TESTED. For those of you who truly like figures,
that is showing greater than 11% positive currently for that County.
6) This just started. We haven't seen the extent of how this will move, how long until a vaccine (Fall has been predicted)
How many people will refuse the vaccine, how many will be out of work, how any robberies will become of this.
So as much as it does suck to be out of work on forced furloughs, how much it sucks not knowing if there will be a job to
go back to, a business to have, etc, we have to try to slow the transmission so we can get a hold of this.
7) You should be worried about every disease.
8) Something not even spoken on yet is lack of filters for anesthesia machine. At a local 550 bed Hospital with usually 50-65
cases a day, they had about 200 filters left (with no idea when they will get more). If they don't put those on the entire machine
has to be cleaned internally. You don't use them on asymptomatic patients, patients could have it for 14 days before they show
signs, & yesterday they were still doing elective cases. Smart right?jimbosmith316, yellow snow thanked for this postjimbosmith316 liked this post

We all have our own opinions. I will keep going out and living life and spend my money with friends that have businesses to help them out.
I am considered an Essential employee in an essential industry. I actually have a letter for LE if I get pulled over.
I was critical at the beginning about those that wanted to quarantine but that is their right.

KY has shut everything down. They shut gyms down last week, all car lots this week and it was reported that there were three cases of the Virus at a Amazon in KY as well. Not sure what is going to happen but one thing I do know. A country boy can survive!!!

I almost got into a fight at the gym because someone wanted to talk shit to my wife after she asked him to wipe the machine down when he is done with them. There was an influx of older people in the gym, YMCA was closed, and with or without the virus it's disgusting.

Oh no sir... Alpha loses his cool when someone even looks at me sideways far say something to me. I love it and afraid that I might be a problem... But I know that he has all under control and I love that he's protective.
You would think that the old people would stay at home since this is mainly affecting them....jimbosmith316 thanked for this postjimbosmith316 liked this post

Our shelter in place started today. I have no idea why I'm considered "essential". Like someone posted above I too have to carry a letter from corporate just in case I get pulled over. And to put a cherry on top of my day. I was informed by our HR department I had a complaint. I work with a bunch of politically correct bitches..

It's all good. First off the whole concept of HR is bs. I like to keep issues inhouse. HR won't divulge who or when this incident occurred, but apparently I joke around too much and I offended "someone" in our office. HR would not tell me what I said to offend this individual. So how am I suppose to defend myself? Total bullshit.

You still have no it idea? I mean just how many people are you offending daily to not know what HR was referring to lmao
You beast you ! Lol
In all seriousness though , what a kick ass job it must be to be able to call someone aside and ruin their day whenever you want lol I mean if they can't tell you who what or where then they could be pulling shit out their ass whenever they want lol
-
04-03-2020, 09:08 PM #40
Well there you have it just make up shit about people whenever you get bored. They won't tell the person who or what. For all you know nobody said anything and they are the ones making it up to justify their jobs
