Soooo how busy is yr gym?
I reopened mine June 1 due to the prior lockdown and its never been slower
The stat I heard was 60% of members of facilities are not coming back which will spell doom for many gyms, luckily I carry no biz debt and have only minimal personal living expenses so I just may survive, OTOH my local market here my competition will be hard pressed to keep open thusly correcting the market
But for now its a ghost town! If yr a loner you would LOVE my gym as many times yr the only one here
So how about the rest of you? Are people leery of coming back w the virus? BTW I spent a good amt of cash on sanitation procedures, mask here are optional

I own a gym in NY so I am still shutdown. It's unbelievable actually. Don't even get me started.
Luckily my business is in a very, very affluent area and we do a ton of personal training. Im fact its over 65% of my revenue. I've been lucky enough to keep my business going by training on the down low. My gym is in a unique building off of a main road so I have been having clients park in the back and come in side door. Its fucking ridiculous that I have to do it this way. I feel like I live in Russia.
My schedule is booked solid and I have a few other trainers doing some work as well but im busting my ass more then I have when I opened 16 years ago.
I intend on doing this as long as i don't get shutdown. I am a part of a class action lawsuit that will be decided on August 20th. There is no reason to keep us shutdown so im hopeful we will get to open.
However, my business model will be changing to a more exclusive training facility rather then a membership based club. Luckily my gym is in an area that will be able to do this. Most clubs in my area are closing or will likely close which will give my club a larger share of the local market. Its totally saturated anyway.
Good luck to you.

Yes Ive seen yr Gov on tv, the guy is clueless isnt he? ANd the other gym owner from NJ who got shut down and eventually arrested, what a police state that must be?? My state isnt too far behind.....
Glad yr up and running even on the sly, good for you. I am in a very bad market, in the cornfields, a rural area where 40K is good income so my PT biz is all but shot.
My facility is a smaller 7500 sq foot hard core gym and it seems that hard core is always tougher to make it in these days
ANd good luck to you too Sir!!

Its terrible. These fucking commie governors have to go. Im surrounded by a shit load of rich fucking liberals. I have to lie through my teeth everyday about my political beliefs because if they knew they'd boycott me and my gym. So much for liberals being tolerant of other people's views...fucking hypocrites!

I understand that we have to be safe, but IMO this is all a political stunt to try and beat Trump. We have to keep the lib-tards out.

Even planet fitness , here, quickly changed their mask policy when memberships started getting cancelled in mass exodus.
