Powerlifter John Haack is set to compete at the 2022 United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) Pro Raw meet, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, in North Kansas City, MO. On Sept. 12, 2022, Haack shared an Instagram video of himself bench pressing 275 kilograms (606 pounds), which he described as a personal record (PR). Check out the lift in the video below:

Haack was spotted by his training partner and coach, Andy Huang. Haack wore a tank top, wrist wraps, and a matching hat when he approached the bench. After a brief pause on his chest, the barbell with five 25-kilogram weight plates on each side went up slowly until he reached lockout.
Huang helped Haack return the barbell to the rack. Haack walked away from the bench calmly. He gave the effort an eight on a Rating of Perceived Exertion (RPE) scale. Haack is coming off a 90-kilogram victory at the 2022 WRPF American Pro meet, where he competed in the 90-kilogram class.
Haack broke the 600-pound barrier in training leading up to that meet, where he ultimately benched 267.5 kilograms (589.7 pounds) — the second time he hit the all-time high of his career. That number is also the all-time world record for raw lifters in the 90-kilogram division. His record is 22.5 kilograms greater than second place Maliek Derstine. Haack also holds the 100-kilogram all-time world record with the same number. That mark was set on Jan. 15, 2022, at the USPA Hybrid Showdown 4 competition.
Haack is expected to compete in the 90-kilogram division for the USPA Pro Raw. On Sept. 13, 2022, the 29-year-old shared a progress pic of his physique, reporting that he weighed 98.4 kilograms (217 pounds). If Haack competes at 90 kilograms, he would have the opportunity to exceed his bench press, deadlift, and total world records in North Kansas City. The potential to do so is high based on the year he’s had. This will be his third meet of 2022.
