    Default High Testosterone in Men

Something you don’t often hear is “Oh man, my Testosterone levels are just too damn high!”.

Is there even a thing like too much Testosterone?!

Well, turns out, there might be, but it really depends on your lifestyle. See Arnold (Schwarzenegger) could have benefited a lot from higher Testosterone, however, I sincerely doubt that 315lb Bob down the road needs more.

Peak level male body that is.

Jokes aside, Testosterone is known for causing adverse effects in those who make use of illegal Anabolic Steroids, so there must be some side effects if your circulating Testosterone levels are sky high, right?

    Let’s find out!

    Key Takeaways

    • High Testosterone is somewhat common, but not really

    • Overall, Testosterone levels are dropping in men

    • High Testosterone does not have severe impacts on health

    • High Testosterone levels are perfectly safe

    • Low Testosterone levels are not safe, and TRT should be implemented

What determines Testosterone Levels in Men?

First we need to discuss what exactly determines the amount of Testosterone a man even has. See, unlike what the media (or Liver King) would have you believe, it has absolutely nothing to do with Alpha, or Bull Testicles (sorry LK).

We know that Testosterone production will take place when both Luteinizing Hormone and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone are present, and these will also lead to sperm production [1]. What I want to focus on is what determines overall the male sex hormones and their resepctive levels.

    • A 2018 study found that boys/men born in richer countries have higher Testosterone levels [2]

    • Genetic abnormalities such as Klinefelter syndrome could affect Testosterone [3]

    • The mother’s overall health and hormone levels can influence the Testosterone levels in her children [4]

Figure 1: Genetics and some external factors will play the largest role in determining your Testosterone levels, such as Klinefelter Syndrom causing Low Test levels

These are all matters that are not in the person’s control, so let’s look at the factors that are:

    • A healthy lifestyle (exercising regularly, good sleep, and healthy foods) have been correlated with increased Testosterone [5]

    • Controlling health factors such as high blood pressure, insulin resistance, weight gain, and cholesterol could lead to better Testosterone production [5]

    • Some Testosterone supplementation can help, such as Boron, which increases Free Testosterone [6]

These are the main factors that would determine Testosterone levels. If you failed to notice, a lot of this simply comes down to genetics.

Why do men have High Testosterone?

Men have higher Testosterone than women, no surprise there. This is due to the fact that men have higher LH and FSH levels. These come from the Pituitary gland and will lead to high Testosterone production (compared to females).

Both men and women have Test and Estrogen, the female sexual hormone. Both sexes need both hormones, and failing to keep either in range could see an increased risk of poor health.

The symptoms of high Testosterone include lots of body hair, hair loss, higher amounts of muscle mass, higher blood pressure, and great erectile function [1].

Why do men have Low Testosterone?

If a male is suffering from Low Testosterone, then he is suffering from hypogonadism. This could be due to various factors such as age, injury, poor lifestyle changes, and even high stress.

The symptoms of low Testosterone are body weight gain (fat mass), hair loss, decreased sexual function and sexual desire, and decreased muscle mass [1].

    What are Normal Testosterone Levels?

Before you get ahead of yourself, we first need to establish what “normal Testosterone levels” are. I put these in inverted commas because it can depend on a million factors, and even then, it doesn’t really reflect the amount of Bioavailable or Free Testosterone in your body.

300 to 1,000 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL) or 10 to 35 nanomoles per liter (nmol/L) is the normal range of Testosterone levels in men.

Figure 2: While there is a Testosterone range, you have to take it in context with how old the person in question is

If your blood tests reflect that you are on the lower end, you might be suffering from Low Testosterone, you might be in line to be prescribed something called Testosterone Replacement Therapy. As the name suggests, this is where a doctor simply uses an exogenous Test as a Testosterone treatment.

Abnormally high Testosterone levels are far less common, but they do still occur here and there. This could be due to low Sex Hormone Binding Globulin or just reflect a male with a nack to produce Testosterone.

One thing to consider is that Testosterone levels don’t reflect true Testosterone, as this is more accurately reflected by Free Testosterone, which is not bound to Sex Hormone Binding Globulin.

    How to Increase Testosterone Levels?

If you feel you might be on the low end of Testosterone, there are a few Natural methods you can use to get high Testosterone – or higher at least. Just keep in mind this will not be massively impactful but might keep you from having low Testosterone levels.

    • Frequent exercise, especially with resistance has been shown to increase Test levels

    • Managing blood pressure, cholesterol, and other health markers could also help increase low Testosterone levels

    • Both depressed and stressed men usually fall out of the normal levels of Testosterone, thus, try to live a happier life if you can

    • Lose weight and build more muscle mass

Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) for Low Testosterone

While using natural methods to boost Testosterone levels is fine and dandy, it might not always be enough. Even Testosterone supplements won’t do the trick, as most of those don’t even really work…

Testosterone therapy is a method in which a doctor will treat a man suffering from Hypogonadism or Low Testosterone levels. The doctor will simply administer exogenous Testosterone to increase the amount in the patient’s body.

This will massively improve symptoms of low Test and could change the life of the person in question.

These male sex hormones are vital for male health, and if these aren’t kept in check you could suffer from mood swings, poor sexual function, hair loss, and even cardiovascular disease.

    Is TRT Legal?

Only if you do it through a medical practitioner. You need to be prescribed Testosterone, otherwise, using Testosterone falls under anabolic Steroids.

That said, TRT is vastly different from Steroids, seeing as the former is legal and calculated, whereas Steroids are illegal and there are no medical calculations.

TRT is a legitimate treatment for Hypogonadism and can be prescribed by a doctor, or if you prefer convienience, a HRT/TRT Clinic.

    Is TRT Safe?

Yes. Unlike Steroids with the “use as much as you can” phylosophy, TRT has a “use as much as neccesary” approach. This means using just enough Testosterone to make sure you do not suffer adverse effects in your sexual health, or develop erectile dysfunction.

Other concerns like tumor growth or prostate cancer are not really a concer, as the amount of Testosterone being used will be comparible to what a normal male actually produces. This means no excess Testosterone, and little to no adverse effects.

Where to find Testosterone Replacement Therapy?

If you believe Testosterone therapy might be something you would be interested in, you’re best off trying to find a TRT clinic that is willing to help you. These clinics are online, and they have various medical professionals to help you. They work by a three-step process:

Step 1: Consultation which includes talking about your symptoms and reasons why you believe you have hypogonadism

Step 2: A blood test to ensure what your hormone levels are and if there are any lifestyle changes needed immediately. From there, another consultation will take place to confirm which medication would be best

Step 3: Medication is shipped right to your doorstep!

The best place we have come across would have to be Evolve HRT Telemed. They don’t only have TRT, but other treatments as well such as Peptides and Hair Growth supplementation.

    Conclusion: High Testosterone in Men

Testosterone levels can tell you a lot about the general health and lifestyle of a male, and there are few other things that will influence their life as much as these.

Total Testosterone can help you avoid low blood pressure, cardiovascular illness, fat mass gain, and muscle mass wastage.

High Testosterone is somewhat common in men, but will always still fall in the range. There is no real cause for concern when it comes to excess Testosterone levels (if they are natural).

Neither your overall nor sexual health will suffer from high Natural Testosterone levels. They will suffer if their Testosterone levels are low.

If you are low, go speak with a TRT clinic to get the treatment that you deserve.

Signs of High Testosterone in Men

Excess testosterone can lead to hair growth, muscle mass growth, high sexual health or function, and aggressive behavior in some men. That said, the symptoms are very subtle, and most won’t even notice it.

    High Testosterone Benefits

High Testosterone could help you avoid cardiovascular ailments, fat mass gain, muscle loss, and even keep you mentally sound.

    High Testosterone Face

This is a myth, your face structure is determined by genetics and the amount of fat mass you carry.

Cause of High Testosterone in Men

Mostly enviromnetal factures will cause a change in Testosterone levels, such as stress, food, activity level, and Sex Hormone Binding Globulin.
