Neck/Back Pain.

So I've been getting these shooting pains, sometimes they come and go in a day, sometimes they last for a week or so. They mostly occur in the trap region, but sometimes they just happen in the mid back area, sometimes they go from my neck all the way to my lower back.

This morning I was jogging with my dog, turned my head slightly and it happened. I can't move my head side to side or up/down without pain. Funny thing is it never happens when I'm doing a heavy back workout only when I'm relaxed and just move the wrong way.

Anyways...anyone else experience this? It's been happening to me for years now and I'm sick of taking time off from the gym so I just work through it. Anything to do to possibly avoid this happening in the future? Any info would be appreciated...

I was going to suggest the same thing...

That or a massage parlor. Even if they don't help your shoulders, you'll get an HJ.

Pinched nerve, maybe? If you go to a chiropractor, make sure he/she is a really good one--get references. I've heard horror stories about chiropractors that really screwed some people up.

I recomend a good massage therepist once a week every week, with or without pain. They know they're sh*t bro.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to start getting massages here and there...depends what I can afford. It can get pricey. A trip to the chiro sounds good to. Was actually wondering if anyone had the same problems and if there were any specific excercises done in the gym to prevent this from happening?

Go to a massage school to keep expenses down.I think I used to experiance the exact same thing in high school. ice, strech, massage.
