I havent tried this , but I think it could work , Put the weight on the smith machine drop the bar as low as it will go or to the floor , have your spotted deadlift or shrug it up enough for you to get under it. Leave it unhooked and you do pushups when your done he turns the locks and you slide out from under.

Just random thought I had last night while eating beef jerky.

Only child , still dont get why everybody keeps asking that.

Yah , but was just wanting to know thoughts on the idea still no feedback?

why not just do shrugs and bench presses speratly so you can concentrate on each movement individually and the specific muscles being worked

I wouldn't recommend it. Far too much work for a variation of bench work. And yeah, this is definitely Malic in disguise!

just do regular pushups, but have Malic sit on your back for extra resistance.

if your gonna call me malic atleast let me know the story.

But normally I do 3 sets with 2 plates on my back , which I dont like the feelin of plates though , when you go all the way down the elbows dont feel right reaching back touchin the plates.

Teriyaki flavor 1lb bag , but because the bar I could have resting right behind my shoulders , wouldnt get in the way of my elbows , the feelin of the plates isnt what bothers me , its touching the plates with my elbows when lowering myself , if I do full range of motion with the pushups the plates life 2-3 inches because my elbows lift them , then they go back to laying flat on my back when I push up.

The towel and backpack sounds good except for I dont think I could find a backpack thats big enough and cheap enough to be able to do that.

first of all bro.. i can appreciate a new found idea for new exercises... new ways to stimulate the same muscle groups.. new 'compound' motions to get the job done....

but listen.. we used to fuck with 'malic' b/c to be honest he used to say some wild shit... he was 'young' and for some reason had this obsession with over weight 'grips'... or like major forearm workouts... it was wierd... just do a search or two.. you'll understand...

but when it comes to doing what YOU are doing.... it can't be a normal motion to get shit done.... seriously... it cannot be a normal motion to get the job done....

you said you have to adjust etc, to make sure it feels right...

well besides all the sarcasm and bullshit... let's get real here... the bottom line is this.... if you are about to do an exercise that causes you to change the 'range of motion' to make you feel comfortable ... then it's wrong...

but the question is this... do you know why? .... goes back to the old saying.. if it's too heavy to keep your form 'correct', then you are going to heavy.... DO NOT adjust your exercises to 'work for you' if the form is wrong.... no matter how 'creative' it is.... it's still wrong..

so i'm not saying that what you're doing is wrong... what i'm saying is this.... if what you're doing isn't ''right", then do it the correct way.... and get your gains the same way we all do.. the right way.... if what you are doing IS correct, then you need to have the right spotter to make sure you don't hurt yourself when you are at complete 'failure' .... positive or negative... make sure you are protected, or else you WILL injure yourself...

got me bro? .. hope that helps.... but all 'joking' aside.. .make sure you are doing exercises that are proven to work... don't always 'make shit up' to.... well to re-invent the wheel.. there's no reason too... just get done WHAT NEEDS TO GET DONE! ...

just my .02 bro..
peace.
