Did 335 for max on deadlift earlier when I was at the gym , at bodyweight of 150-155 , more on the 155 side.

I used Hooks though. Because I dont do deadlifts with alternating grips I always do overhand with both hands.

have you tried lifting straps?

I used to do alternating hands, but do both overhand grip now. I feel it helps produce equal growth on both sides of the lats and doesnt threaten a bicep tear as much.

I dont have lifting straps , but there is a pair at the gym .... Well I guess theres a pair , I found one strap lol.

But the U hooks , basically no risk at all that the weight is too heavy for my grip , So it all comes down to the other muscles , and my technique.

I did

135 - 5
225 - 5
275 - 5
315 - 1
335 - 1

Pretty good stuff bro. I am about to start doing deads this week. If you work at them and concentrate on form you will be amazed at total strength gain. Last time I did them I did 4 sets of 135 for 15 reps just to get my body accustomed to them again. Did the same with 225 the next week. Then was working out with 315 with very strict form by the third week. I was hitting 10 reps with 315 in a month. That was natural as well. They are my favorite all in all exercise by far. They also helped me break my bench plateau. I am curious to see what I can get reps with now since it has been so long since I did them. Just make absolutely sure you use good form or you can really kill your back. Lifting strap work great like dreww said as well.

Deads are something I really need to start doing again. I had stopped because of some strain.

I normally do mine full squat back as straight as possible. Which now that I maxed at 335 , with the hooks , I will probably do deadlifts from now on without straps , hooks , but raw grip with overhands.

So my sets will probably be with 245-275 Thats if I can keep the weight gripped at the 275 weight good enough.

Which im pretty sure I can get it enough to get it , I think I got 315 a few months earlier with pure grip
