When doing this exercise, which do you find is the most effective, a palms facing you grip, or a palms away from you grip?

always palms facing away. if they face towards me, I use too much bicep.

I do two kinds of pulldowns. One with the "regular" bar, very wide grip (outside of hand off the end of the bar) and dont grip the bar, I think of my hands like hooks on the bar to get a better lat workout with less bicep.

I also use the wide grip bar, with the handles set to where your palms face each other. The grip is of course wide and still use the "hands as hooks" technique.

My favorite is palms away, wide as possible. I realy like hitting failure with that grip on the last set then imediatly reversing grip and hitting failure again.

If I do palms facing me, it's never a wide grip. I'll give it a go on my next back day.

yeah im pretty sure if you tryed doing "palms facing you" with a "wide grip" it would be nearly impossible or hurt your elbows like hell!

im a firm believer that palms towards you works better. when palms face away i think i get more tension in my biceps.

im not a fan of jay cutler, but his workout videos ive learned alot from, and he swears by them.

Actually, it is possible to do, maybe I'm just double-jointed, lol, 'cause I've done it that way before.
