How much fiber can you supplement?

Is it ok to get almost half of your fiber from pshyllium husk etc? My diet right now is only getting like 12 to 14 grams, so im thinking metamucil twice a day would really help out. Its pure fiber so it shouldnt matter where it comes from right?

Does the metamucil contain both water-soluble and insoluble fiber? They are both important for different reasons and you need adequate amounts of each for good health.

Other than that, as long as your daily intake is ok, I don't see why it would matter if some of it came from a supplement.

its mostly psyllium husk which is mostly water soluble, and i also eat almonds so hopefully that should be enough insoluble.

I get these wheat tortillas and eat 1 every day for the carbs and fiber. It has 31g of carbs and 21g of fiber in one tortilla!!!! They are called "Mission Carb Balance Whole Wheat Tortilla". You could add one of those in per day and that would definitely help.

holy shit 21 g's of fiber in one tortilla? my bread, rice etc. still isnt close to that haha.

Yeah, I have a hard time getting a lot of fiber in my diet too, which makes potty time not-so-fun. lol The tortillas help A LOT!

I read that taking 10 grams of fiber before a meal slow the release of carbs helping wightloss

I try to get at least 30 grams of apple pectin Plus whatever is in food.
