This calorie deficit and going heavy for many weeks in a row finally caught up to me i think, Strength has stayed pretty much steady this entire cut but today i was down 20 pounds or so on everything. Starting the rest of this week and for several more im gonna lower the weight quite a bit and just work on quality. How often do you switch it up?

go heavy for a few months, then lighter. i do refeeds when dieting, usually the day before legs for obvious reasons.

I usually switch to lighter weights every 8-10 weeks depending on how I feel. I feel it helps my CNS recover so I can hit it hard again later. I do light weight for about two weeks then it's back to heavy.

Maybe once a month, I'll do a light day per body part. Like last weekend on legs, I did extensions, curls, stiff legged deads, presses, then did front squats with 135, and 135 kicked my ass. I went light on everything, and got the best leg workout that I've had in probably months. A better pump, and I actually felt it the next day... and I NEVER get sore.

i usually switch it up when i get a slight injury, which always sucks. Then your forced to go lighter

I try and listen to my body. After a couple months of hitting it hard if I start to feel low on energy I'll lower the weight for a week or two, like Saud said, it helps my CNS recover. Plus it's good to keep it interesting and switch it up from time to time.

That's me. A little injury like I got today or while dieting. In the case of an injury I will take 5 days off as I feel if I get a slight injury then everything is in the same condition so a rest period followed by an extended IGF application period. Precontest I go lighter starting as soon as my diet changes.

it really depends on how i feel that day at the gym.....i usually have it planned that i'm gonna go heavy, but i may be extra weak on my warmups of my first few exercises and decide to do strip sets, drop sets, or just really slow squeeze reps instead of pushing alot of weight.....it's worked well for me

when i really messed up my back. I was forced to do leg extensions first to really burn out my quads. I was doing 30 reps for 5 sets. I burned them out so i didnt have to put weight on my back.

anyways, i really figured out that my strength significantly increased. To where i was not only adding more weight every week, but also not in complete agony.

Currently doin 5/3/1 and every 4th week is a recovery week. Before that I would just try and see how I felt. If I was just not in "the zone" I wouldn't waste the workout and just do some lighter weight with more volume. Some days you just don't got it and I learned to listen.

yeah i do a full refeed day for how long do you go light after switching?
i feel since it took 2 or 3 months to plateau out on heavy lifts, its gonna take that long to heal from it.

I usually go lighter for 2 or 3 months too. But in that time, I'll do higher reps of 15-20, then switch to slow reps in 10-12 range (the weight is still light cause youre moving it slow), then swith the faster reps with dropsets, etc. But none of its really heavy heavy stufff.
