Yeah, you should qualify the word *Squat*. A real squat IMO goes at least to parallel if not below. Some of these guy's in my gym thing that a 1/4-1/2 movement is a *Squat*, WTF ?!?

6'2 245-250 give or take a few pounds depending on the day and football workout , about 7% bf, college football player, i aint huge by any means, im fairly strong and just give 110 percent on hardcore workouts. while i enjoy bodybuilding and try to keep the "statuesque" physique i prefer strongman training , and i think im gonna get into my first comp this summer.

and presser ur one rep max is approximately 632 with the weights u posted, pretty impressive bro

You only need to do one of them bro.  From April till July are to quilfy for the Championship.  You only need to qualify once.  If you qualify then you can go to the championships.  Those are held from Aug. to Dec.

Presser, thanks for the plug.  ive done a 720 ass to ankles for a DOUBLE.

on the same week i hit the same number on dead for a double.  it was just over a year ago.  Had to lay off the power shit for a while.  trying to lose some bf now.  Had to eat too many cheeseburgers to hit those numbers and it caught up with me.lol

I got some pics of the dead and the squat and dead on video, trying to get both of them to presser.

what amazes people the most about my squats and deads is the fact that im tall.  im 6,3.  on both squats and deads i use more of a narrow stance.  im about shoulder width apart on squat, and dead, i use a conventional style.  ive tried using wide stance on squat and sumo deads but it feels uncomfortable on my hips.  this is not to say that those styles are wrong.

    To each his own.

I'm about 6' and I go as wide as the rack let's me.  I do them at shoulder width sometimes.  I go to 90% but I'm going to start going down farther now since everybody is saying that is how you get the tree trunk legs, lol.  I was always trained though, that going down that far was to hard on your knees.  I will try and do them that way and see what happens.

actually the opposite can be true about depth.  knee stress can be eliminated by going deep.  when you go deep you are getting a complete stretch of the quads.  also when you break that 90degree mark your hams and glutes will come into play.  this is a good thing since you want to hit the whole thigh when squatting, not just quads.
as for stopping short.  this can cause knee problems.  i read this years ago.  when you stop short, you are in a sense putting on the brakes.  what are the brakes?  your knee ligaments play a major role in this braking.  so go deep, don't be afraid to get stuck.  thats what the rack is for.  once you hit that a couple of times, you will be less fearful of going deep.

Stumpy what I'm saying is that I was always told not to break 90% unless you are preparing for a power lifting meet.  If you are breaking 90% you are putting to much stress on your knees.

capt, yes i do use juice, no hgh,  if u do not believe me thats fine, i dont come on the boards to argue or say im stronger than other people or what have you. i come on here to learn, so it really doesnt matter to me if incognito people dont believe me, and yes college football players do squat that much, try looking at the records for west virginia and such.

no your word was fine bro but it always sounds better when it is coming from a guy that has tree trunk lets, lol.  Maybe if you would put some pics to show off the work I might of just listened, lol It is always good to hear it a second time.  Especially  when you have been trained the wrong way for years..........

I've done 335lbs for 22 reps. My legs respond MUCH better to high weight and high reps.

Death, unless you post some pics of yourself..your claim is the biggest joke i have ever heard.  Come on guys?? you actually beleive that?  hey please someone prove me wrong here i would love it.  an 18 year old kid squatting over 700 pounds.  How many 18 year old kids do you see that are 240 pounds at 6'2 with 7% bf, thats solid muscle death! and you said you are not huge by anymeans?? i mean come on 7% if your not huge then what the hell is all 240 pounds of your weight? it cant be fat.  ok im getting all wound up here, i have to never think of these claims again.  bye the way I squatted around 350 at a bodyweight of 180 for a 1 rep max parralel to the floor at age 18 and I was impressed with myself, but i guess im pathetic compared to death...what a joke
