Lower Body development exceeding the Upper Body

Hello guys,

I have been seriously working out for the last 18 months and made some solid gains. But my lowerbody has grown significantly and my whole upper body is lagging behind.

Shifting the focus on upperbody i had decided to skip on legs and do them once a week or less. But one of my friends suggested that i do light weights and a lot of reps( around 20 - each set ) to get more definition. But i read somewhere that this theory is a myth and will not lead the desired cuts/definitions.

Any suggestion on how to approach this problem?

My stats:
Height 6.0
Weight:207 lbs
BF%: 17

Thanks in advance.

Not sure who told you that lower weights and higher reps leading to better definition was a myth, but its not and works quite well for scuplting.

And yeah if your legs are that much better then your upper body then concentrate on your upper body, and use heavy weight with midrange reps or just go to failure(THATS HOW I DO IT), BUT THE HEAVY WEIGHTS IS WHAT YOU NEED ALONG WITH A SOLID NUTRITION PLAN.

Yea, the low weight high reps is definitely not a myth. Just do that and really focus on your upper body using a lot of compound movements along with a quality diet and you should be good to go

im in the same boat bro, my lower body looks like it was takin off some one else and put on me, its hard for me to skip legs, i have trouble making my upper bady work outs as intense as my leg days

I don't do less than 15 reps on legs and they continue to grow. I never go lower. I also remember a guy from high school who only trained legs. All he did was squat and his upper body was pretty muscular. We played football together. He did 405 3 times, then 300 on bench having only bench pressed a couple times. Squats, deadlifts, and controlled heavy upper body exercises are key. I don't do anything but injure myself if I do less than 8 reps. Just my $.02

thats pretty strong for highschool, I know i was only benching 275lbs in highschool and i thought that was alot, lol

^^ I'm only benching 275 now lol

And as far as trying to grow, if you have to try doing each upper body part twice a week once for high reps low weight and one for heavy weight low reps
