    Default muscle endurance??

I've always been a low rep kinda guy. I can still get big numbers for low reps, but holy shit do I get weak after say ten reps.

So, I'm working now to combat this. I've started adjusting my weights so that I get 20 reps, sets of 5, with a 30 sec rest in between. I'm planning on sticking to this for a while.

Weakness. It's shocking. I think it has to do with age, but its not like powerlifters are exactly in shape...so maybe its just my routine needs a change.

An example.... Most people can do 225 on the bench for 20 reps. But try 5 sets of that. I failed after my second set. I've been sore for a week...lol

oh lol, well the 30 second rest intervals aint helping, lol, but thats how i like to do it to, i like short rest intervals when dieting, it realy makes ya sweat, but i would imagin if u gave urself more time inbetween sets u might do better?

If I take too much of a break it actually hinders me, both physically and mentally. I'm better off to take 60-90 second rest and then go again. I can keep the pump, get some what of a sweat in and it doesn't bother me with endurance. I like training with low reps and will get winded on certain exercises if I go high reps, but with a 60-90 second rest it seems to be about right

Well, im still doing this, only im alternating now. one workout will have 20 reps, 1 min rest. next workout has >10 reps. 3 minute rest. Im only referring to large muscle groups here. Its pretty much both ends of the spectrum. I hate the short rest, high rep. Love the long rest, low rep.

I've shown progress in both endurance and strength. Im on now though, so i really cant compare.

Mixing it up is the best way to go though, it keeps everything guessing, but if you're wanting to build muscle endurance you'll wanna hit more reps and less rest more often. I'd take one muscle group a week and go low reps/long rest then something different the next week and that should help out
