    Lou Ferrigno

Lou Ferrigno- The Hulk of Bodybuilding World

Want that bulky giant figure spoting the spark of Hulk and looking for an ideal that matches perfectly with your imagination, then Lou Ferrigno is the right choice. This American bodybuilder and actor is a Gusiness Book World Record holder- winning the title of Mr. Universe at the age of 21.
Born to an Italian-American family on November 9, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York, Lou lost around 80% of hearing power at just the age of three. But this incidence failed to break his willpower. Lou Ferrigno or Louis "Lou" Jude Ferrigno started weight training at age of 13 only. But it was only after completing his graduation from Brooklyn Technical High School in 1969 that he made his first appearance as a professional bodybuilder in 1971.
After debuting in 1971, Ferrigno won his first major titles, IFBB Mr. America and Mr. Universe in 1973. In his attempt to defeat Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1975 was also the subject of a documentary named, “Pumping Iron”. However, he failed to this attempt and remained out of the competitions for many years. In 1977, Lou returned back to compete for World's Strongest Man contest and occupied fourth position among eight competitors.
Apart from its idenity as international bodybuilder, Lou Ferrigno still makes apperances in various shows, films and documentaries. He also appeared on the worldwide famous magazine covers, including “Muscle & Fitness,” “Flex”, “Iron Man,” “Bodybuilding Lifestyle” and “Muscular Development”. Inspite of these, he plays the role of an author for book named, “Lou Ferrigno's Guide To Personal Power, Bodybuilding And Fitness”. He still trains and sells his own line of fitness equipment through his company, Ferrigno Fitness.
In short, it is right to say that Lou Ferrigno is a true winner who despite of the loss of hearing shows his potential and never dying spirit to whole world.

It's amazing how few wins he actually had. He had such great potential, but basically gave up competing for acting.

Yeah, he looked amazing when he came back in the 90's. Who comes back after 20 years looking that good?

I agree. I don't care how good your genetics are, you don't get pro size on 800mg of primo and a few d-bol. lol.

I've always thought that they did more ridiculous amounts back then because there wasn't as much research done as there is today. That assumption could be way off base, but I have just always thought they went more balls out in the 70s and 80s than they do today
