Hey Guys and Gals,

I was sitting here eating my Pre-Workout meal and was curious about everyone's routine split. I follow a 2 day on and 1 day off split No Matter What Day of the Week it falls!! I see a lot of people at the gym who will do Chest on Monday no matter what. Today just happens to be Leg Day for me which got me thinking about this.... ;)

Anyway, lets hear it guys and gals. I love hearing about other folks routines, splits, etc...... ;)

Peace,
Austin

Back day for me today...... I NEVER have set days for certain body parts.

I'll work a body part when it's recovered and ready to be worked again. That may be anywhere between 5-7 days.

Did chest already today. I think I'm gonna do chest all weak actually.:bench: I did inner chest today. I'll do lower chest on tomorrow. Upper chest Thursday. Outer chest on Friday. Wait did I skip a day..... Then it's triceps on Saturday. I'll be applying MC IGF to the chest all week as well. It's my personal national "Make up for years of neglect chest week declaration." Holiday Week

On a serious note today actually happened to be my chest day.

I have no set routine for upper body, I do what ever I feel like, even though I need to do chest a lot more, but every sunday is leg day no matter what.

mon - chest, tris, bis
tues - quads, calfs and abs
wed - back, hamstrings and forarms
thur - shoulders, traps and calfs
fri - chest, tris and bis
sat - off
sun - off

I have my split in order and I just follow it. I go chest, back, shoulders, legs. I don't start over until all 4 are hit. So if I don't get to legs one week, that's the first thing I do the next week then start the split over. This way I never miss anything and I don't have a set day for this or that

Mon. Back, cardio
Tues. Chest , Abbs
Wed. Legs,Calves, Cardio
Thur. Shoulders, Abbs
Fri. Arms, Cardio
Sat. Sun. Off
It works for me.....

LOL why does everyone do bodypart splits?

To get freaking HUGE! Lol

The whole idea in splitting things up is to work a particular area to the fullest and keep all the blood flow in that area during that workout.imo

Duh I know the idea LOL, I just disagree with it.

I'm biased because I care more about strength than size, but there is zero evidence that bodypart splits result in more hypertrophy. Additionally, the whole high reps + lots of blood = fascia tearing thing isn't necessarily good. If your arms expand an inch in the gym it means that you have created mostly type 2 muscle fibers (aka slow twitch) which are about as useful as an asshole on your chin. Much denser type 3 fibers do not get near as pumped but are far superior for explosive performance and they stay the same appearance in and out of the gym.

Lots of the old school bodybuilders and some of the bodybuilders who train heavy have these dense muscles. This is why powerlifters who cut and do bodybuilding end up looking denser.

Know that guy who looks like a crosscountry runner outside the gym, but then when he's training blows up? He has primarily developed type 2 fibers.

I do chest when it comes up on the rotation. Could be any day of the week. But yea average idiot in the gym always does chest on Monday. You can't fined a free bench open for hours.

You do make a very good point.... I train for size instead of strength I guess. I want the maximum amount of size using the least amount weight possible.

Chest day for me as well. And tossed in some tris. Plus added some igf to the chest for a little extra pump

You can have both because high reps do have their place. Just be sure to include some explosive (aka low rep , heavy weight stuff) lifts.

On a side note, I like your using the least amount of weight possible to get the job done philosophy.

All very good responses!! I love the diversity in everyone's training. The main points in training methods and splits are enjoying what you do and do what works for you individually!!

First off, I would love having my asshole on my chin! So many benefits to that i can't even name them all! lol, But First and foremost I would be able to lick my own asshole and that in and of itself is more then useful, its downright sexy! :)
