I notice alot of guys on here train 5-6 days a week and when they are looking for better results they tend to train MORE. I've always noticed better results training less and I also don't have to force feed myself. Like alot of you guys I enjoy training, but aren't we all after results? Have any of you guys tried training 3 or less times a week? Training like this makes it harder to stay lean unless I'm doing an hour of cardio a day, but it's about results right?

4 days is good for me ... i go 5 days some weeks but 4 is good. Any less and i feel soft.

4 days allows good recovery ... but my intensity is really high...im banging out hard core sets n finishing exercises before the next guy has even thought about his second set....

Everyone is different but I do think as I get older more rest is needed but fuck if I miss the gym it is like missing a piece of ass!!! feel like I can never get it back LOL

I'm cutting right now and go for 4 a week. No specific days I go off how I feel and it's working great. If I hit it super hard and am just dragging still the next day I'll do some cardio call it a day, sometimes even two rest days in the middle of the week if I need it I find my body responds better to this then a set schedule that I "force" even if not fully recovered.

i laugh at people who train 6 days a week or double train..

its like dude, the people that need to be double training are soo damn advanced in bodybuilding and have so many compounds running through them..

if youre training for growth 3 days a week is more than enough..

i put my clients on 5 day a week programs, but their gym sessions do not last longer than 45 min on all but back days.. more is not better!!

rest is key to recovery and growth

I train 5 days a week and I get lots of rest owning my own business. I will get 9 hours of sleep and usually an hour or more nap during the day at some point. I usually go heavy for 2 weeks then go light for 2 weeks. There is just no way for me to go for much over 4 weeks doing the heavy days it just takes it toll. As you get older the saying is true you learn to work smarter.

Four days a week of balls to the wall training gives me the best results. Any more than that and I am cutting into my recuperation.

I agree with 3J. I think if muscle growth were my goal 3 days a week would be tops. Some week 2 days. It's tough doing so little, but that's what's always worked for me. Now a days I'm not really interested in all out muscle growth. I'd like an inch or two on my calves and I'd like some size on my quads, but that's not in the cards for me. It's just cardio is so damn boring... if I trained 3 days a week with 30 minutes of cardio on training days and 1 hour on non training days I would look pretty sick within a few weeks. I'm just having trouble sticking to it.
What's funny is 3 times in the last week people have commented on my size and every time they guessed 260. A professor asked if I was a professional bodybuilder today. That was fun

I'm really surprised at how many of you guys agree to doing 3-5 days. for me, I"ve always done a full body 3x per week when off and I do an Upper/lower when I"m on.
