The way to determine it is by who makes it. Vet grade usually says vet grade, usually has a picture of a horse, dog, or chicken on the bottle, and the product is usually named something along the lines of "rooster-test 20000". They're also doses at like retardedly low concentrations. Like I you wanted EQ you'de probably get like 30mgs/ml. or 2.5mg Mexican rooster dbols. Not even kidding, have any of you seen a Mexican pharmacy? Anyways, can still be good quality. I've heard of some vet stuff being very fucking painful though. I don't know the type of facilities vet stuff is being produced in. Seems the vast majority comes out of mexico, so that in itself is questionable to me.
Pharma grade is the same is Human grade. Simply means, it's dispensed in pharmacys and hospitals for HUMAN use. It's produced in multimillion dollar facilities by big pharma. There are also "human grade" but from some foreign companies that are not as big or well known. Generally I prefer to go with the bigger names like Bayer, Schering, Norma.
You have labs like Balkan Pharma which technically are listed as pharma grade because I believe they are on a list that shows them dispensing in pharmacies and shit somewhere, I think it's like moldova. I have a feeling their regulations requirements might not be as tight as over here. Still no doubt they make great products. Far above 99 percent of UGL's I think. I still trust companies like bayer and norma a bit more. The problem with human grade is you have to remain concienscous (sp?) of fakes because it's not hard to counterfeit this stuff. Trusting you're source is a good start. For instance if you see a lab selling norma amps, and they're based out of Greece, and they show pictures with the pharmacy tags still on them. This is a good start. Depending on the country you can walk into a pharmacy and buy these products otc because in some countries steroids are LEGAL.
Now to the last. Underground labs. This is where shit gets crazy and you have to watch yourself. Sometimes using UGL's is like playing wack a mole. You have a lab you think is good, then they scam a bunch of people and disappear only to pop up under a different label seemingly overnight. Although, since you're on this forum that shouldn't be a concern of yours because I haven't seen anything like that here. I have on other forums though. Which is why I like this place.
Quality can obviously be hit or miss. It doesn't take much for these guys to pop labs up other then the funding so anyone can do it. You start dealing with a lot of shady people and there are a number of things that can bring them down. You have to find the UGL's that have been around for a while and on the top tier. Purity Source Labs, Robolics, I have a list from various forums but I will NOT mention them. If you want to go the ugl route that's a good start, do your research, spend hours following trends, and reading reviews and most importantly stay up to date.
If you have the money I recommend buying what is available in human grade form. Like Testosterone, Aromatase Inhibitors, or SERMS. Deca, Dbol, Anadrol, Var and some other shit can be found but trying to track it down usually isn't worth it so just go with a higher end ugl. And then for everything else, again, pick a higher end ugl.
I like to use UGL stuff for blasts and then use pharma grade test when i'm cruising on trt. It just ensures when i'm cruising my trt levels are stable and where they should be. Although I must note that the good ugl's can produce gear JUST AS GOOD as PHARMA GRADE. They have the ability, you just have to know which ones to use.
people seem to use pharma more for peace of mind but if you have a reputable ugl then you should have the same peace of mind.

What I have found over years is lot of ugl or foreign producers used to put up front as vet gear and on labels to get it produces somewhere and out there but then act like they can't control if people aren't getting it for animals.
Vet grade isn't produced in an fda regulated facility but often they follow more guide lines than fda requires most places all do for quality control.
I used plenty of vet gear dosed normally per ml except eq but all eq is for animals never been produced for humans except black market. Most gear we use besides deca and testosterone is not medically produced for humans anymore anyway. I know alot of people that take pride into their animals and if they can't perform because of an abcess or painful injection the money put into these animals has way more riding on it then any of us. I buy my b12 from feed store and have used lots of it with no problems and needles too. Sterile is sterile. If Don Won has a race horse that gets an infection or is hurting it won't be nice. Wise guys betting on that horse u know!
I use reputable labs and most of them want return customers. I use my trt for dr bloods but use what's good to go. I hit some underdosed stuff time to time but never anything completely fake nor have a ever had an infection. But I don't get from first place that I see. I keep a stock that way I am never desperate

As for as grade it's real simple for me if it's good to go then that gets a grade A. If it us as good as pharma then that an A+. I used some of best gear that had no label at all but a # on it to match a list that was coded

Sounds like u getting real vet gear with raws meant for animals. Like The Powder Guy says, the acid bath hasn't been finished in the process. In a post he mentioned that in raw to conversion to oil process, that once solvents are added it doesn't get clear. I can't remember what he said needed to be added for bath to finish, wanna say baking soda. This is only during raw powder conversion process though
