Aspartame is broken down to two amino acids (protein) and methanol. Unless you are born with the rare disease PKU, which means you cannot break down certain amino acids, the amino acids are no issue.

The methanol, however, is where the aspartame fear propaganda comes from. Once again, THE DOSE MAKES THE POISON. A can of diet soda contains less than 190 mg aspartame.
.
Animals given aspartame corresponding to 1500 cans (4,000 mg/kg) of diet soda DAILY over their ENTIRE LIVES have not developed any disease.
.
Meanwhile, EFSA and the FDA recommend a maximum of 15-20 cans (40-50 mg/kg)per day for humans, which is already WAY lower than what is given to animals in studies. Furthermore, only about 10% of ingested aspartame becomes methanol.
.
Methanol doesn't accumulate in your body either, it is broken down and peed out. So sit back, relax, and have some aspartame. Unless you have PKU, then don't do that.

Lmao [emoji38] my ex wife called it “ass-part-a-may” once on accident.

Btw I like to add that aspartame also has a bad rep because it’s made with the excrement of ecoli bacteria.

It’s funny how many people will poo-poo that idea and say it’s a conspiracy theory and it is anything but.
